Day 2, ME - Capitalism without earthly attachments (Lights Camera Action Event, OPEN)

by Iris Pythia
Iris has considered heading to the beach for the...frankly horrifically tasteless commercial she was being compelled to make.
Either that or the morgue with the victims.
But Little Disaster was at the beach and the morgue was probably a little on the nose. So Little Buddah it was. Plenty of life, interesting architecture and people and maybe some kind of spin on history, culture tradition...all that nonsense.
Yeah, the elite was clearly not in the best of moods, although she'd at least pinged the rest of the house as to her destination and intention.

Responding to the ping, Malik had stopped (as instructed) to inform his camera crew that he was about to leave...and then he was off, tearing at great speed to Little Buddha.
He dropped down next to Pythia. "Hel--" *Sonic Boom* "--thia. I wondered if you needed some assistance with the commercial? I find the project...strange, but am at your service."

Iris was very thankful for her super senses and their early warnings else she’d probably have set a new world high jump record from the sonic boom.
“Malik? Hey. I didn’t actually think anyone would come.”
Lowering her voice. “It
is weird, right? Feels a little ghoulish but uhh. Rules are rules I guess.”
She hoists a heavy film camera a little unsteadily.
“I was thinking I’d do some shooting around here, got a pretty good eye for stuff. And then um, make the ad about history and… resilience and stuff? This neighbourhood has a cool vibe.”
Looking contemplative. “So you’re fast. And I’m assuming you can fly, still awesome by the way. What do you reckon you’ve got that translates to-” sounding genuinely painted, “making a commercial?”

One moment she wasn't there. The next she was. Okay, that was a lie. One moment she wasn't here, the next she was... in the rough vincinity. Then it took a bunch more moments before she actually found the right place. Which she mostly found because Michael Bay was hard to miss even from a distance, so all she had to do was blink and then she was right next to the two contestants.
"So uh... there's a thing? We're supposed to do a thing and someone sent a thing telling us to come here for the thing? Hi, by the way."

"Hey Frankie."
The Frankie...a Frankie? A Frankie-like?
"Yeah we have to make an ad because irony died back in the late 2010s. Do you uhh, have any relevant skills?"
Frankie was odd, for all Iris knew maybe she was a marketing agent in her spare non-teleporting time.

"An ad?" she raised a brow skeptically, having slept through most of the earlier announcement, "Not very superhero like, yeah?"
She looked pensive for a moment, right as a group of sad clowns marched right on through in the background of the shot.
"Skills eh? Well, I'm pretty much a ninja, yeah? I'm guessing being unfindable isn't really useful, but I can do some killer stunts. Ooh, I could like climb up the highest place 'ere and then just jump. Do some sick stunts in mid-air, and then eh, the landing is like whatever... it'll be fine. Oh, and if we need like, dynamic staging or extras for the background, I can make uh... random stuff happen. Emphasis on the random because I can't control what happens, yeah? But it's like, flavor, yeah?"
She shrugged, "Oh, and if anyone needs like some equipment or props, I can get that no problem. Like, you want a tripod for your camera? Fine. You want a rocket launcher? Fine. You want a motorcycle? I can probably do that too. You want a turtle suit to wear? Sure. You name it."

"...I mean, that could actually be extremely helpful. This thing is crazy heavy."
She shifts the camera to her other shoulder.
"Weird stuff, props, stunts. Tonnes of ads have those."
Nodding.
"Yeah, I reckon we're getting somewhere. I'm not sure exactly where, but maybe somewhere interesting with interesting colours and movement."

Malik found Pythia's commitment to taste encouraging. He wasn't entirely sure what a ninja was precisely, but with the jumping and kicking he imagined some kind of martial artist. Hmm...
"I have no technical skills beyond fighting with a sword [+8], but I can fly [8] and move well in the air [13]. I am also immune to fire, because, you know, I am on fire all the time, but I am not certain how well that will perform for a commercial [It's only a 5 power]."

"Swordfighting, cool. I'm pretty good fighting with any kind of weapon so long as it isn't actually a weapon, yeah? Or just my fists. (Unarmed/Improvsed weapons +10) I know, it's weird. I can also just... well, hurt people or like, distract them, but in improbably ways yeah? But I'm thinking maybe that's just *too* unpredictable, but maybe it could be cool for some b-roll yeah? But I can definitely do the mid air 720 backflip rollies and what not (acrobatics +16).

While they chatted people take pictures on their mobiles, especially of the Angel.

Iris nods along, her head cocked slightly with several eyes trained on the both of them.
"Huh. You know we might just be able to pull this off, here's what I'm thinking."
She points to the temple ahead in the square.
"So Malik you come soaring in (+13), and everything is normal but umm, Frankie maybe there's some like fun easter eggs in the crowd? I...don't know how you work, but if that's possible?
And there's some narration like 'after a day of being the hero, how should you recharge?' then we splice in some footage of parents and doctors and miners or something. Then we cut to Frankie and you're doing cool backflips? Jumping between building? Ninja stuff? (+16).
And the narration continues 'when life is coming at you from all angles, when you have to keep moving but stay centred...'
And then you both land at this cute little cafe table in front of the temple with two cups of elite chai and the package and we have the narration finished with 'elite chai, ancient methods for modern heroes' and you both drink and look pleased. I'll shoot and edit the whole thing (+16 expertise art) ?"
Looking between the two of them.
"What do you reckon?"

"My stuff is kind of unpredictable. Unless I want to direct it at someone. But even then it's unpredictable... I don't control what happens exactly, just that it affects someone. Like... surprise! You get hit by a flock of birds. Or, surprise! what an inconveniently placed tarp hiding that hole that was totally there the whole time but nobody knew and you just stepped right into it. That's the stuff that'll hurt. I can get... *weirder*, but trust me, it'll make doing your stuff harder."
"Now if I'm standing in the shot there *might* be some like less harmful stuff happening around me, like, I don't know, *stuff*. But that's a big maybe and I can't direct it. So, it might require multiple takes for something cool to happen."
"The ninja stuff I can totally do, though."
OOC: Frankie's powers don't require a roll, so they're kind of out for the event except as flavor I think?

Malik nodded. "That sounds like a good plan to me, Iris. We will forgo the easter eggs (Malik, a little unfamiliar with the English term of art, had thought Pythia meant literal eggs. He had foreseen quite the mess as bystanders trod on them, and he was not completely sure about their being germane to the theme. Thankfully, Frankie had also voiced a rather concerning set of caveats to her powers), but the soul of the thing is ready. Is there a particular spot, here, that seems appropriate?"
********
That sounds right to me, Frankie.

"How about....there? We'll get the sun just so and the background is some of the nicer olden buildings instead of that hideous condo."
Iris goes and sets up her camera for filming, sticking a hand over the viewfinder to check its perspective and then tinkering a little with the settings.
"Okay, ready when you folks are. I'll wave my arms and yell action?"
((Ready to make some history?))

"Let's go!" She said, totally ready for ninja shit.
(We rolling in order with Uri > Frankie > Iris?)

Uri-el flew up into the air, flying in a strong, swift arc (just slowly enough to be captured by Iris' camera). He pirouetted, he barrel-rolled, he barnstormed, he was limned with flame. He looked cool--you know, like an anime hero is cool. Sort of.
He alighted on the grass just in front of the camera, idly sweeping with his sword. "Was that...will that suffice?"

Next up, up there in the sky! A-again... it was a bird. It was a plane. It was another angel. No! It was Frankie! Who totally couldn't fly, but had teleported up to the roof of a tall building, then jumped to another rooftop doing some sick flips and stuff! And then to another with more sick flips and a 720 noscope! And then she fell from the tallest building, making it look like she'd been kicked off by a supervillain just offscreen and was now flailing wildly about to go splat!
But she didn't go splat because right at that moment a truck from an air mattress manufacturer drove past and had to suddenly swerve to avoid a squirrel in the road, causing the back doors of the truck to swing open, in turn causing one of the mattresses to slide out and come to a stop right underneath where Frankie was about to go splat. Breaking her fall and providing her with a nice and comfy surface to lounge on.
"Now where's my chai?" she said, looking at the camera, before going; "Ooh, you know, if we need it, maybe I *could* do the other ninja stuff. With the disappearing? And just pop up here, and then suddenly over there, and then over there instead, and it'll look like we're just cutting because where'd she go, yeah? But actually it was all just a single cut instead, and true like effects afficionados will know?"
Ninja acrobatics! | 1d20+16 ⇒ 35 - some points
OOC: I don't know if uri-els was acrobatics? Because if so, then this doesn't work as we can't repeat skill rolls. I also just realized we need to do 4 skill rolls total, not 3.

Iris captures both the flying flame and the falling fire of ninjutsu with careful skill, providing a thumbs up after each take.
"Nice, nice! Love it, looking good. Totally down for John Wick 8-esque onner with the ninja stuff, it can add to the mystique. Frame it as some kinda battle with Malik or what not."

Yup!We do need one more and we can't repeat, but maybe we can substitute as needed with any acrobatics overlaps? Iris has a few other skills at +16, but mainly perception orientated, so if folks have more interesting stuff go for it!))

My skill is Aerobatics, which I've been thinking of as distinct from Acrobatics---Uri-el is normal on the ground and an artist in the air.
As for other high skills: I've got Parry at +12 and close-combat (sword) at +8.
