[Day 3, ME] Family Dinner

[Babble]

"Thank you, sir." He returned the hug. "That means a lot to me."

[Dapper Dog]

The family celebrated Arturo and then fed him great food, a mix of Ethiopian, Vietnamese and flavors that fused both styles. It’s a good time of togetherness and after about an hour of feasting and conversation things die down and Hanh takes himsaide to enjoy a drink on the roof and look at the skyline of the city.

She handed him another beer and said, “So, I hope you survived my family. They were really happy to celebrate with you.”

[Babble]

"It was very nice. They remind me of ny family ." He sipped the beer. "We would have had lechon. My father and uncles would have spent tge day tending to the fire and roasting the pig. My mother and aunts would have been in the kitchen, making everything else. My cousins and I would probably play volleyball until diner was ready."

"Thank you, Hanh, for inviting me." He smiled at her.

[Dapper Dog]

"Thanks for saving me, I owe you everything," she admitted. "Glad we could be a a little bit of peace for you."

[Babble]

"It was your phone." He said. "That's how I found you. That's what helped me through the pain, after the explosion. I could sense its signal and hoped it would lead me to someone who had survived."

[Dapper Dog]

"You can see the signal from our mobiles?" she asked with awe. "What does that look like?"

[Babble]

"Chaos." He laughed. "Cellphones, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Satellites, GPS, AM, FM, Walkie Talkies, Shortwave, and so much more, use radio waves. It's a constant barrage of different frequencies, like trying to walk through a giant spider web. It's difficult. I have to focus all of my attention on it or be overwhelmed. That's why I wear this hood. It blocks out most of it."

[Dapper Dog]

“So it’s not some cool fashion accessory to make you look mysterious,” she joked.

[Babble]

"No. That's just an extra benefit." He grinned.

[Dapper Dog]

“You know, you’re way more chill than I expected an Elite to be. Like, I am glad I don’t have any special powers I am not sure I would be as heroic as you are. I feel bad saying it, but it just seems so dangerous,” she admitted sheepishly.

[Babble]

"It is." He agreed. "My abilities aren't well suited for combat. I could use them to build a better life for myself. But, I believe they should be used to help others."

[Dapper Dog]

"And you do it anyway?" she asked.

[Babble]

"Yeah. If I didn't, people could be hurt." he nodded. "You wouldn't be here."

[Dapper Dog]

Hanh smiled at that and nodded in agreement. "I am thankful, it's surreal to consider how it all went down."

[Babble]

"I'd like to know more about you. If you don't mind?" he asked.

[Dapper Dog]

“Me? I’m a student, well part time right now. I really want to be an artist, and I am working on a mural at an animal rescue place. But most days I am working part time for the family business. I run deliveries for restaurants most Vietnamese and Thai restaurants.”

“But yeah my passion is art, mostly sculpture but I like painting too.”

[Babble]

"Studies, art and deliveries? I thought I was busy." he smiled. "Where is that animal rescue? I'd like to see that mural."

[Dapper Dog]

She pulled up her phone and showed him the progress pics on IG and address. She said, “It’s almost done, my first real project for actual money. I love animals, so I am glad to do something for the shelter and get paid for it.”

[Babble]

"I love animals, too. I'll definitely have to check it out." he looked through the images appreciatively. "This is really good work."

[Dapper Dog]

"Thanks," she said proudly. "What about you, what's your thing? Tell me your story."
