A light sprinkle [Pregame, Monday the 9th, LE] (Open)

[Frankie Reynes]

Frankie was out in the quad as the evening dragged on; trying to get away from herself.

"And that's being way too literal," she said, to no one in particular, before noticing some more rainbow colored sprinkles were starting to come down.

So, she reached a hand into the air; disappearing into nothingness for a moment before it came back into view an umbrella in hand; bright red and white with an 'Umbrella Corp' logo becoming visible when she opened it up right as the rainbow colored sprinkles started to turn into a real downpour that seemed to be happening exclusively in a very small radius right where she was walking; even following her as she continued onward.

"You're probably wondering how I got to be in this mess," she said, once more to no one in particular, "Wait, why am I talking to you? You're not even real. Or are you? Are we on camera yet? Am I just jumping the gun here, or am I breaking some sort of fourth wall without knowing it?"

She sighed. "Anyway... you can stop sprinkling me now."

The sprinkles weren't stopping just yet.

[Thousand Miles]

"Did someone call for a camera?" an Asian teen with glasses asked, having overheard Frankie's monologue. Whipping out his mobile phone, he swiped on the screen and began recording. "Hey, TikTok fam," he said into the phone. "It's Miles here at the UNJE with .... Falls-from-Ceiling-Lass? Sorry, let's try for a proper introduction. They call me Thousand Miles."

Miles bowed politely while somehow keeping the phone camera trained on Frankie.

[Galatea]

Galatea had come back to campus with more discretion then this morning. She could be recognized , of course, but she was not going out if her way to put on. a show this time.

She had others priorities.

But somehow a show was quite underway, just without her at the center.

She observed the strange girl, Tring to understand what she was seeing.

But then the TikToker entered the scene.

[Frankie Reynes]

"What?" She turned around at the sound of the voice, the rain of sprinkles continuing for a few seconds as she stared at the influencer before it came to a sudden unceremonious end, the last of the sprinkles bouncing off the pavement. Where'd they even come from, anyway?

"Uh...no, nobody called for a camera. I was just asking... nobody in particular."

She blinked again.

"A thousand? That's nothing, I knew a guy who had over five million on his card. I think that's a lot, but I don't really fly so I have no idea what air miles are even good for."

"Also, it's not falls from anywhere lass, it's Frankie. Just Frankie. The real one."

It was at this point that she finally looked up, noticed the sprinkles had stopped, and closed up the umbrella before letting it just vanish.

"Pleased to meet you, Just Frankie," Miles said. "That hero name is fire, by the way. The Frankie OF JUSTICE! She's Keeping It Real! But don't let me interrupt your Big Introspective Monologue. Please continue! Tell us 'how you got into this mess'!"

[Frankie Reynes]

"Hero name?" She blinked, "Oh nah, that's just my name. And what do you mean? Monologue?"

She stepped a little closer and looked straight into the phone camera. And just behind her, visible for like half a second, a goldfish staring straight into the camera too, fell from the sky and disappeared again.

"Is this live? Are we live right now?" She asked, making a fake gang sign, "What's this for anyway? How many subs do you have?"

[Galatea]

Galatea set herself out of the tik-toker's sight but close enough to listen to what Frankie would had to say

She opened her cellphone to give her plausible denial...and she also could multitask

"Hero name?" She blinked, "Oh nah, that's just my name. And what do you mean? Monologue?"

"Is this live? Are we live right now?" She asked, making a fake gang sign, "What's this for anyway? How many subs do you have?"

"No no, it's not live, Just Frankie - I'm just recording. I'll edit it down to a bite sized video with just the good parts later on," Miles assured her. "No one has time to watch stuff live with all the boring parts any more. Say, nice goldfish! I saw the sprinkles earlier, too ... is that your power? Making stuff fall out of the sky?"

[Frankie Reynes]

"Goldfish, wha? Oh... oh right, sprinkles and... goldfish, I guess" she said, shrugging, "Nah, that's just life, innit? My power? Do I *have* a power? I mean yeah, I guess I can teleport and what not, but anything else is just things that just happen."

[Thousand Miles]

"You're a teleporter? That's great.... I'm a teleporter too!" Miles enthused.

The Singaporean teen suddenly vanished with a sound something like *peng*, then reappeared two meters to the left, his phone camera still framing Frankie perfectly. "Profile shot!" he shouted. "Look, uhh, heroic!". Then with another *peng* Miles reappeared in front of Frankie again at a conversational distance.

"As for 'things that just happen', wow, hard same," Miles said in commiserating tone. "Life be like that these days."

[Frankie Reynes]

She was about to say something when he did the teleporting about, raising a brow at him when he stopped doing that.

"Okay... so... you got an identical twin you didn't know about too? And... does it always make that sound like the microwave is done? And I thought you were called thousand miles, not two meters?"

It sounded like a legit question instead of like some sort of dig.

[Thousand Miles]

"Ohh, I can teleport farther than that, but you'd end up out of video range for my phone," Miles said offhandedly. "How far can you teleport? Does your teleporting not make a sound?"

"And ... you have an identical twin? That's the most soap opera thing I've heard all day. Uh, is she evil and/or wear her hair differently or something?!"

[Frankie Reynes]

She shrugged, then just disappeared. Okay, it wasn't quite like that; there wasn't any sort of microwave ding that accompanied it, but for a moment it *did* look like there were these weird *cracks* in the air... like a window or a mirror had just cracked.


"Yooooooo!" she yelled, standing on the edge of a nearby roof top, waving her arm around until she was pretty sure he'd looked in her direction. Then she disappeared again, before tapping him on the shoulder from behind.

"Yo, I guess. I can do about... err... 8 miles in a go, if I'm pushing it? I dunno, it's more of a side thing, really. And she's *totally* evil. Different hair, and has boyfriend who'se on literal fire, or something."

[Thousand Miles]

"Not bad!" Miles allowed, after watching Frankie's display. "I liked the whole 'oh no my powers are fracturing reality' effect, too! Maybe you'd like to do a friendly teleport race sometime? Like, to the pyramids and back or something."

"And ... um, your evil twin? How will I be able to tell her from you?" he asked. "Or ... wait.... how do I know you aren't the evil twin, hmm? Tell me something only the real Frankie would know!"

[Frankie Reynes]

"Ugh, no thanks, if you're holding out and you actually live up to your name you'll beat me way too easy. Also there's no way me saying something only I would know would make sense to you since you don't know me well enough to know what only I could know. And it'd be awkward to say stuff like that on camera, too."

She flashed another fake gang sign. "Brixton represent."

[Galatea]

Galatea eavesdropped like a total pro. Their conversation really piqued her interest...

"Ugh, no thanks, if you're holding out and you actually live up to your name you'll beat me way too easy. Also there's no way me saying something only I would know would make sense to you since you don't know me well enough to know what only I could know. And it'd be awkward to say stuff like that on camera, too."

She flashed another fake gang sign. "Brixton represent."

"Oof, sounds like something your evil twin would say," Miles said, sounding skeptical. "But guess I'll give you both the benefit of the doubt until one of you does something sus in 4K."

"So, are you here for the contest or the classes? Or both?"

[Frankie Reynes]

"...yes," she said slowly, in response; as if she wasn't entirely sure.

"So," time to redirect, "what sort of things 'just happen' for you? Is that sort of thing just a teleporter thing? I thought that was just me. None of the other teleporters I know have those kinds of things just happen."

[Thousand Miles]

“Oh, you know, weird stuff, like people claiming your powers aren’t real, or your best friend going on the run from the law,” Miles suggested. “Or running into other Elites a lot more often than you’d expect considering the number of Elites as a percentage of the population. Unlikely stuff like that, that should never happen in a world that made sense ... but it still happens.”

“I haven’t had rainbow glitter fall from the sky on me yet,” he added. “But I'm sure it’s only a matter of time. How did this random stuff start for you?”

[Frankie Reynes]

"Bruv, none o'that is weird, that's just Tuesday afternoon, yeah?" she seemed unimpressed by his standards of weirdness.

"Supers are like a dime a pound yeah? Wait, does that even make sense to say? Anyway, you don't even know mate. I once saw a guy eaten alive by his own cat, and that isn't even that weird. Sometimes I have to have arguments with my dinner because it wanted to walk off and join the circus. And I'm talking like, rice and beans, so it's not as if it even makes *sense* for the dinner to turn sentient or anything."

"Anyway, don't put that thing about the cat online, yeah? They said I wasn't supposed to talk about that."
