Getting In Train (Open) - Pregame - August 16, Early Afternoon

The elevator plays an upbeat afro-pop jingle as it descends before the doors open with a 'ping'.

"The one with Ishaan Gupta and the trains? It's iconic, but you're not wrong about the controversy."
Exiting and turning left following the sign to 'development room and storage'.
"Obviously it's a great action shot, Ishaan saving the passengers moments into a disaster. But at the same time it means the photographer, during a calamity with people dying decided to pull out their phone and start taking photos instead of helping. People still argue about it to this day, you'll have one side explaining the duty to document and the other the duty to help.

I mean, it wouldn't be very cool if Photo Man used his super speed to rush to the scene of the accident and then just took some very fast photos of a car crash. But if someone's baseline, I dunno, it's not easy to stop a train crash."

The dark room entrance is a blacked out revolving door to prevent any light from entering past it.
"When you go in take a moment to let your eyes adjust, it's red and dim but not too bad once you get used to it. Oh, and what do you reckon on the photo thing?"

[Mucuzz]

"Well yeah, I think that's the common sense take on this. We don't let toddlers fight fires, so why would someone be mad at a baseline not tossing their lives into the danger to save the day? If evolution runs its course like it should they'll have a chance to step up to the plate once they hit 2nd puberty. Someday." Mucuzz smiles another jelly-carved smile.

"If anything I think that photographer captured something super important for baselines to see! An image of what they could be when they grow up!"

The red room did indeed getting used to. It reminded Mucuzz of some kind of escape room or themed nightclub. They stretched out several limbs from their back and had them intertwine to face each other. The red glow through the transparent green ichor was indeed very rad.

"Speaking of powers. Yours must be a lot less obvious than mine..."

"Evolution? Uhhh." Sounding a little unsure. "Yeah, it's pretty complex I guess. And hey those photos were pretty good PR for elites, better than someone emerging and killing some folks."

She busies herself checking a tray with a large print submerged in some foul smelling chemical.
"I have some stuff developing in here, really slowly. But basically it's convincing the paper to reveal where and how it was hit by light, sort of like magic happening."

A faint outline of a blond woman talking to a hologram with an influencer in the background was appearing on the print.

"My powers? Oh, it's just some family stuff. We've had gifts in the line for a long, long time. It's kind of private, you know from back in the day when people could get burnt for saying the wrong stuff. But long and short I can see things, I could examine the individual cells in your body or check the screws on a passing airline. And my sight is true, so no illusions, no concealment. I see what something or someone really is."

She looks up for a moment.
"Ehh, looks fine to me. And there's some other things. But strictly need to know.

Long and short of it is that I process a lot of stimuli very quickly at all times which can be...kinda sucky. It's a gift don't get me wrong but it causes some wild headaches, not to mention the fact I can horrendously violate the privacy of anyone nearby at anytime. So....photos, dark rooms, peace and quiet. Big fan of all of those when I need a bit less."

Ruefully.
"But hey, other than that pretty boring and standard. No flying or super strength or shooting lasers. So a lot of people on campus could probably kick my ass if I didn't see them coming first."

"Peace and quiet." Yeah that's a luxury rarely afforded within the bombastic nature of Elite world.

Young Mochou could empathize in a way. Being an observer, always needing to fade into the background. The overwhelmingness of it all

"Do you ever just feel like...keeping it on? I mean yeah, privacy violations is a real thing, but like...it just sucks that you have to keep such an awesome power dormant. Why not just keep it on 24/7? You'd have a whole new perspective on life, wisdom unique only to you!" Mucuzz began doing laps around the room with its top half, leaving it's bottom in place.

"The way I see it. The more we live our authentic selves, the more we change the world for the better." They stop abruptly and the coils of ooze restrict, snapping back to reform their original humanoid shape.

"Don't let baselines keep you from being the best you can be Iris. If you're all-seeing, just BE all-seeing...ya know? Did all those Greek gods have the same consideration for mortals? Did Zeus stop chucking lightning? Did Poseidon just cut all the wave stuff out?"

"Ooof, full on all the time?" Several eyes open all over her body with flutterings across her cheeks and hands, a dozen eyes all moving independently, focusing and unfocusing.

"Well, first of all, that means seeing everyone naked, or their organs sloshing around."
She grins slightly at the top half of Mucuzz, maybe said sloshing wasn't so bad for some elites.

"It means knowing people are pregnant before they do, or that they're dying. Seeing people at their very best and at their very worst, all at the same time, all at once, forever."

Her brow furrows and the eyes abruptly snap closed and recede back into her skin as she sighs quietly.
"Those gods...a lot of them were dicks. I mean, kinda literally, Zeus really did not ever put it away. And apparently my family worked with Apollo back then, he wasn't as bad but still. Could be real vengeful. Sent a mean plague."

Taking a deep breath and then starting to examine some of the other hanging photos in silence for a few moments.
"We do things differently now. I don't agree with my family on everything but that...that makes sense to me at least. I like to think that's the real me, someone who uses their powers a little responsibly. I mean, maybe not always, I can be nosy. But not badly, I guess, if that makes sense?"

She raises an eyebrow on a normal eye in the right spot.
"But being the real you, that I can always get behind."
There's a gentle tone of query in her statement as if wondering what that meant more specifically to Mucuzz.

As the eyes unfurl, Mucuzz spreads wide and sticks to the walls all around the room, observing the woman's gifts on full display. They let out an involuntary gasp.

OOC: Are the eyes all the same color or are they different? The imagery is really cool

They move their collective body to the ceiling and then drip down back to solid humanoid form.

"Those were the old gods Iris! We're the new ones! And we're wonderful! We're beautiful!" The excitement in Mucuzz's voice was unmistakable.

"Sure you'd know everything about everyone at all times but isn't that the point?! Maybe it'd help you transcend what it means to know, what it means to relate to others, and what's really right and wrong. Think of all the great things you could do! Children need babysitters, baselines need gods." Mucuzz looks at the photos as the face of the blond woman filled in with the details that made her...well...her.

"But being the real you, that I can always get behind."

"And that is the real you Iris! A god."

Their entire bodies, their backs, their hands, their wings—along with all four of their wheels—were covered with eyes all around.

"If not a god, at least, an angel."

Iris swallows quietly, looking a little more sheepish than her usual confident self.

"I...that's a lot, Mucuzz...Mochou. I'm not sure I'm god or angel material, I mean, I haven't even got a BA yet."

Weakly, "Those seem like graduate positions. And my family....we. Well we decided a long time ago stepping back and keeping an eye, or eyes on things from background was safest."

One eye slowly opens on her palm and rolls around slowly as if scanning the area.

"Things got dangerous for us when we reached too far and wanted too much. Even dropped off the map for a while."
She rubs her hand gently until the eye closes.
"Ummm, anyway. This seems like something you've thought about, maybe almost as much as I think about my photos or that time I accidentally called my 8th grade teacher 'mom' in English class?"

Glancing over at the other elite.
"You're more on the angel, god, babysitter side of things?"

"Haha sorry, I just get a little excited." They tone it down just a smidge, trying to level with Iris' more down-to-earth vibe.

"I know it sounds a bit grandiose, but when you think about it...we really are shaping the world, aren't we? As for me, I just wanna be the best me I can be. I wanna take everything that comes with being an Elite, the good and the bad. I mean...I sort of have to right? It's not like I can turn all...this...off" There's no hint of sadness in their voice, but you can tell they've gotten all sorts of reactions to their unorthodox way of being.

"It's hokey, but I do believe we were given these gifts for a reason. And in a perfect world, everyone will have 'em! I guess to me this university is a bit like a heaven on Earth."

The photo appears fully realized under the glow of the red room.

"I think it's done!" Mucuzz points a lil tendril over in the direction of the aforementioned photo.

"Do you have to wear gloves or something to pick it up or is it good to go?" They tilt their neckline appendage in an inquisitive manner.

"All good, it's a vibe, and better a positive one then a downer. Reckon you'll fit right in here, jetlag and angels or no. And hey, if you're going to use those gifts to help well, can't imagine anyone complaining."

She cocks her head slightly and goes to the photo, gently removing it from the chemical concoction which runs off it with a faint shimmer of red.
"Well it's not great for your skin, but just don't get any in your eye...or eyes and you'll be fine. Stings a bit."

Nodding with a faint sense of pride.
"I reckon this captures a bit of the modern world, social media, being unable to escape ourselves or the rest of humanity. Or it's just a pretty woman with a mid-dude in the back."

Holding it up to Mucuzz.
"What do you see in it?"

"Honestly...." They didn't know anything about the people in the photo other than that one of them is like...famous? Whoever they were they weren't well known on the Chinese net. Now if you got an action shot of Hip-Hop Aunty doing her thing...that would be art....

"Probably the latter." They let out a genuine chuckle.

"Nothing against the artist though. I'm sure you'll find much more interesting subjects once classes start up." They form one tendril into a cartoonishly large muscular arm.

"But for now..." Mucuzz lets out an involuntary yawn

"I'm sorry but I probably gotta..."
