Ruby was waiting in a stylish UNJE workout set. She said with a joking smile, "Arturo, welcome to the pain factory."

"AKA The Gain Factory?" He grinned. "Thank you, again. For this."

“It’s what I live for, and we will get them gains. So let’s look at your goal, you want to improve your ability to read code and people, right?” she said.

"That's right." He nodded. "Lsngusge is my primary ability. I can understand any language. That includes computer coding. That also means I can receive and broadcast electromagnetic, light based, abd audio signals. I have some difficulty filtering and blocking electromagnetic signals, however, meaning I'm receiving countless signals at once which can be disorienting. So, I haven't interfaced directly with computer networks very often. I don't usually immerse myself in code."

“So we are looking at trying to express new ways for you to interact with your Elite powers. And training to help you filter out signals with and and more likely without the hood. Physical combat and understanding of body language. I can handle physical combat but body language… may be difficult. I don’t breathe, and many normal responses have become alien to me,” she admitted.
“But we have a team of specialists that can help in that regard.”
Ruby then said, “Let’s get moving with some warm ups and then do some tests of your abilities.”

"Of course." he nodded. "General training we be useful, as well. I'm still very new to combat, with just a few classes and little real experience."

She said, "Time to get physical."

He managed to keep up as she challenged him, for now.

Ruby puts him through a strenuous workout but he does well and keeps up. She is impressed and said, “Well you seem to be in good shape, want to work on basic physical combat?”
“Show me you skills, I can handle it,” she offered.

He demonstrated a few Kali strikes, but they were uncertain and clumsy.

“So we have a lot to work on, but this is good,” she said honestly. “Footwork, keep your guard up, stay alert. Be Flexible, and mostly just muscle memory.”

He nodded. "I'm pretty good with memory. Another benefit from my abilitirs."

“Good then that will help,” she said. “So first we just work on the fundamentals. The most basic is footwork, stance, and defending yourself. Protecting what is vital, your head and your body. For most humans, this is where all the important stuff is.”

She chuckled and said, “Yeah, I hear you. So keep your defenses up and footwork. We can do some simple boxing exercises to work on reflexes and muscle memory.”
“Ready to continue?”

Ruby pushed harder this time, putting him on the defensive and made him drill harder with the boxing training. She was not harsh, just intense, but she did remember that his body probably had lower limits of endurance and durability than he brown and relented after about thirty minutes. She said, “Get some water and take five.”
“So what sparked this training need? The attack?”

"The attack on Monday." He answered. "The best I could do was delay the explosion by a second. I need to do better."

"But what does better mean, Arturo?" she asked.
