Arturo was talking to himself as he went over his first responder armor designs. He had been working on it when he could for several weeks. But, the design had to be complete before a test model could be fabricated. "Modular additions to the base construct could be allow for adaptation to specific scenarios. Like cold weather...."

The design looked good.

ADINA appeared and said, "Yes Arturo, how can I help you?"

"Could you do a review of these designs?" he asked. "I think I'm missing something."

“I have reviewed the design and identified several points of failure after thorough test runs through simulations. The system is sound, I can provide you with my notes and annotations for future iterations,” the AI responded.

"I was afraid of that." He sighed. "I'm probably overloading the power supply. Thank you for your notes. But, before I begin a redesign, could you assist me with something else?"

"How can I help you?" the AI responded.

"I would like to run a personal simulation." he explained. "I would like to see how far I can hack into a network with just my abilities. I've done it before to a limited degree, but I've never fully immersed myself in the task."

"What kind of system are you trying to get into?" they asked. "A replica of the local network or something else entirely?"

"Anything you feel would be an appropriate challenge." he shrugged. "I wouldn't attempt to infiltrate the local network without permission. It would be like sneaking into your house. I'm not sure a copy of it would be appropriate."

"Understood, I can create a suitable challenge based on the given parameters," the AI said.

"Alright." He sat down and lowered his hood. "Let's see how deep I can go."

His eyes glowed white as he tried to connect with the network.

The network is connected it seems to be a Police station local network or facsimile there of.

OOC: Technology check with a DC of 15.

Usually, Arturo didn't go much further than establishing a connection. From there, he could communicate with the system remotely, convincing it to bring him the information he wanted. That wasn't enough in situations like the hardsuit. To influence a system to change its operations and protocols, to accept a different operator, he needed to push deeper and more direct.

I now realize I used the wrong bonus on the design check. I'm not worried about correcting it, just noting that this is the correct bonus.for the roll.

"ADINA?" He reached out to her. "How do you percieve me when I'm interfacing like this? Is it different than a more traditional hack would be?"

“it is a different yes, still code based but then best analogy is amorphous. Organic in a digital sense. Machines are orderly in most cases, software as well. Your presence is different,” the AI responded.

"Like using a different accent or dialect. I'm speaking the right language, but I stick out." he mused. "I need to adjust for that."

"Is your intent to mask your presence and appear as just another node or program on the network?" the AI asked.

"Anything that would help me evade detection and active responses to my intrusion." he answered. "Usually, I would only use this for gathering information, which I can do quickly. But, after the encounter with the hardsuit, I realized that I need to be prepared to do more. I was able to manipulate the hardsuit. briefly. Shutting it down or seizing control from it's operator would have been better."

"That seems quite within your capability, and with time an easy use of your abilities," ADINA responded.

"Why did you limit yourself?"
