She eventually slowed down a bit to take a breath and some water

The rude awakening had motivated Camilo to go for an early morning run. Last night's beers had barely been enough for a buzz, much less a hangover, but that didn't mean he was bright eyed and bushy tailed. He rounded a corner at a leisurely pace and saw a familiar face on the path. Not familiar in a personal sense, but familiar in a celebrity sense.

"Bom dia."

Portuguese?

The model swallowed a mouthful of water as she turned, meeting the sight of her interlocutor.

Ah, of course.

''Bom dia para você'' she replied back

Camilo continued in Portuguese, "Sorry if I'm bothering you. I didn't realize anyone else was out here. But it is nice to run into someone from back home here."

There was only a hint of sweat about Camilo and his breathing seemed unbothered by any exertion.

''There is no bother, this park is for all, and it is indeed good to meet a fellow brazilian''

She quirked an eyebrow and hinted at a grin

''Mister Bohemian, I presume?''

Camilo, a.k.a Bohemian, looked at first surprised and then pleased. "You are well informed. Yes, I sometimes go by Bohemian. I don't have fame the likes of Thousand Miles, our resident angel Uriel, or yourself, but Bohemian has has responded to a few calls. Speaking of, I am curious, why is a celebrity like you here? Is it just for the contest, or are you looking to join the UNJE team?"

At the mention of being well informed she gave the impression that there was one or two more things she could reveal.

''A little bit of A, a little bit of B and C must not be forgotten about...but it's neither here nor now'' she replied

''What about you?''

He couldn't help but grin at her non-answer. "My story is very simple, a lot of A, not much B or C to be worried about. Little boy from the favela emerges and finds a way out. He takes that way and keeps going waiting to see where he's stopped."

''Or so you say...'' she replied, feigning suspicion ''...at any rate I wish you luck in this contest. Competition will be fierce''

"Competition is good. Steel sharpens steel. I will admit, this contest is not what I thought it would be. The importance seems to be more on publicity than ability. Or maybe that is just what it seems like at the start."

Galatea eyes her surrounding. The advantages of going jogging is that it's one of the few times it would be normal to leave the cameraman behind since they couldn't bring their equipment around. They likely could be seen by drones but they were out of earshot

''Depends on who you ask. i don't think all the big head want the same thing out of this''

Camilo gave her an appraising look. It looked like her insights might include more than just him and their fellow competitors. He had been going to ask her for any gossip on the others, but this was far more interesting.

"Really? Well informed indeed. And what is it the powers that be are wanting from this competition?"

''Publicity, money...but some also want to actually test us.'' she replied ''The usual: either they see us a resource to exploit or as potential collegues''

She shrugs

''Nothing that shouldn't have been expected''

"Oh, well that's about what I was expecting. You made it sound like there was some ulterior motives or conspiracy. No, just the usual conflict of greed and duty. Although to be fair, I did expect more duty than greed than I am seeing."

''Those who value duty are busy doing just that.'' she replied ''Still, I also expected more...heroic classes or challenges''
