"Thank you darling but I don't have a lot of credit here...it's mostly what I already do. I am sure you'd be great in agronomy yourself."

She shrugs

"The hero classes are great regardless."

Agronomy?

She had no idea.

"It is interesting to think about what we will do after. Who we will be. I don't think they've said how many people can make the team. Or if it's possible they will make more than one team."

"Or maybe the exposure will lead to an offer from another team or patron organization?"

"If I'm still a wallflower at the end with no invites to dance, I guess I'll head home and reconnect with the teams in Oklahoma City. I'm kind of aged out of the Salt of the Earth. But maybe Bill would put a word in for me with the OK Cavalry. He wrote a recommendation with my application to the Academy. I helped him a couple times, side kicking."

"But if it comes down to making a living, I could get a certification to work with animals. And time volunteering at a shelter will be a really good background."

"So where is Oklahoma? It's the center right? America is so damn big. Oh is Oklahoma City like New York City?" Ayana responded.

"In the center, yes. In American terms, we would say in the mid-west/west. I'm actually from Gore, Oklahoma which is almost to the Arkansas border. East part of the state. That's where my family has a ranch. Kind of in the middle of nowhere."

"But yeah, Oklahoma City is the capital. Like New York and New York City. It's not as big as New York City, but it's very big compared to anywhere else in Okolahoma. Oklahoma City is in the middle of the state where all the big roads connect. Due north of Dallas, Texas. And due south of Witchita, Kansas. And due east of Amarillo, Texas. None of which probably means a thing to a person from outside the US, beyond it's the big city on roads connecting other big cities in neighboring states. And Texas is so big it's directly south and directly west at the same time."

"But Oklahoma City is a nice place to visit! There's the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum! And oh goodness - the National Circuit Finals Rodeo. That's in March. It's the top circuit cowboys and cowgirls from around the country against each other in bareback and saddle riding, barrel racing, steer wrestling, bull riding and team and tie-down roping."

"I stayed with a really nice host family there when I was part of the Salt of the Earth."

"I heard of a cowboy, that's like the guy in the tower where he does a Die Hard right?" she responded

"In the old movie right?"

"Oh. I'm not sure. I don't think I've seen that one. But also a cowboy or cowgirl is just a person who works with cattle, from horseback."

"But there are some great movies, yeah! Old classics and more recent ones."

''I've seen a few'' she replied ''I liked Cooper Howard's movies...especially The Man and his Dog. It's old but so good''
