A studio office upstairs is prepared for a comfortable interview between one of the producers and the Elite Academy contestant. It has large wall length windows allowing plenty of light and a great view of the Refuge, there is a small fridge stocked with water and refreshments and the crew is ready.

Time for an interview.

OOC: Open to any Contestant, first come and first served. People who have not done an interview are preferred. But if the slot does not fill, you are more than welcome to jump in.

She gestured to the free chair and said, “Hey Arturo, whenever you are ready can you state your name and a bit about yourself?”

He sat down.

"My name is Arturo Vicente Bulalacao, also known as Babble. I grew up in Cebu City, Philippines. I am a computer science major. I am an omniglot, with the potential to comprehend and use any language."

"How did you discover your abilities?" she asked.

"Slowly." He chuckled. "At first, it was just a knack for learning languages. The number of languages I could speak as a child was impressive, but no unheard of, especially in a country with hundreds of local languages. But, as a teenager I could learn them quickly, within minutes of hearing or reading them. The most significant development, however, was discovering I could converse with a neighborhood cat."

So you an talk to Dumpling then? The house rabbit is extremely popular on social media," she responded.

"I talk to Dumpling regularly." He nodded. "Like many pets, Dumpling assumes we're servants."

She chuckled at that and said, “Really, I am not surprised. So with these abilities of communication, do you find yourself making friends easily? You can communicate with anyone right?”

"Understanding what people say is much easier than understanding who they are." He explained. "But, I'd say I'm fairly good at making friends."

"I'm closest to Miles, I guess. Maybe Galatea. We worked well together doing the commercial, but I wouldn't really say we're close." He admitted.

"What do you think about Thousand Miles? And Galatea?" she asked.

"Miles is very outgoing, very social. As you would expect of an influencer. He is also very confident and comfortable with his abilities." He answered. "Galatea has surprised me a bit. I never expected I would have anything in common with a supermodel. Her technical knowledge and aptitude are very impressive."

“So, Galatea is surprising you? What were your initial thoughts on her?” she asked. “She seems a rather complicated person, on the whole.”

"I suppose I expected her knowledge and skills to be centered around fashion and modeling, maybe with an understanding of business and marketing." he confessed. "She may have that acumen. But, I've found that her technological abilities surpass mine. The virtual exercise was a good example of that."

"How was the virtual scenario for you, what are your thoughts on it?" she asked.

"It was the closest I have come to seeing or feeling real snow. I do not think I want to experience the real thing." he joked. "It felt good to succeed. To keep everyone safe."

“Do you feel it was a helpful process to go through the scenario?” she asked.

"I do. But, I was concerned by what I saw of what the others went through." he answered. "I appreciate the desire for authenticity, but.... Well, I don't like seeing others suffer. That's why I want to do this, to protect others."
