Now that Camilo has more expenses, he needed a source of expendable income. Naturally, he took up some shifts at Elite Chai.

With waxed mustache and crisp tan apron, Camilo stood at the counter awaiting customers.

Well, that wasn't entirely true, while he waited he did work on a little project. Behind the counter he had a broken pencil which he kept pushing energy into, trying to replicate his breakthrough yesterday with repairing inanimate objects.

“Alright listen up newbie as the Junior Assistant Manager, I just want to be the first to tell you the ropes around here. If you’re late, I will note it down. If you fail to give the customer less that 110% of your efforts, that’s going in the file. If you decide that any milk will do, well that’s file worthy. And the bathroom must be checked hourly and cleaned, or that’s going in the file,” he said sternly.

“You get me?”

Concentrating, Camilo pushed energy into and through the pencil, willing it to mend. He thought since it was made of wood, it might be easier to work with. Not that he could do anything for a living tree. Focusing even deeper, Camilo started to feel something, a change in the pencil. And that is when it cracked and splintered under the pressure of his fingertips, grinding the graphite core to a fine grit. Dismayed, he pushed the debris aside and wiped his fingers on a nearby dishcloth.

“You get me?”

What a weird way to greet someone and start a conversation.

"Evenin' Phteven. Yes, I got your back." He offered a thumbs up, stained with pencil graphite.

"Good, gonna check the stores in the back, you good up here..." he asked.

"Claro!" How hard could this be. Camilo drank coffee all the time, he just had to make some coffee for people, flash a smile, and collect tips.

After about fifteen minutes he cam back out and said, "So what's your story, newbie, you one of the people from that reality show?"

This time, Camilo was aware of the assistant manager (possible named Phteven, that's what one of the regular customers had muttered when he'd walked by earlier) came around the front.

He was about to answer the question when he remembered the NDA. He wasn't sure the particulars of the NDA, best to keep it simple and just deflect any discussion. Deny, deny, deny.

"I wish. That'd be so cool. No?" Then he decided to see if anyone had been more lax about following the NDA. "Have you seen anyone from the show in here?"

“Yeah, actually they do mostly good work,” he said putting away items for the café. “Have not seen umm what’s her name…. Gala something, Galatea, you know her?”

“But the American girl, with the blonde hair, she works super hard. As Assistant manager, I am thinking of rewarding you guys with a team building exercise at the club tomorrow night. It’s a leadership thing.”

Wait, so he hasn't seen Galatea, but knows about her?

Makes sense that he knows about Bea, the girl is an open book. Plus she's an American and Americans love coffee, she must drink non-stop. Although he couldn't recall her drinking any at the house come to think of it.

Wait club? "Yeah, that sounds great." Camilo wouldn't say no to a night out at the club. Hold on, tomorrow was Halloween. "Uh, what time is this thing at the club tomorrow? I may have other plans for Halloween." His only plans so far were to not be with work people.

"Guessing later that night," he said as he checked over the machines. "It'll be lit for sure."

How much later was he planning? Halloween was kond of an all night thing. Oh well, at least it was at the club and not back here in the shop... although that wouldn't be so bad on a not Halloween night.

"Yeah, sure man. I'll be there."
