She had stood still for hours acting as a living relay and crisis center to support the rescue teams and then the local authorities until she had not been needed anymore. They had the rest in hand: que sera, sera.
She did not return to the institute yet, opting instead to scout surrounding areas and eventually passing by the Elite Chai.

Elite Chai had at best superficial damage, which was a relief compared to other parts of the city. There was a light on in the inside of the building.

While she was satisfied to know that not everywhere had been hit at to the same extent she found odd that a light was shining inside. She got her keys out in case it was locked and opened the door to get inside.
''Hello, anyone here?''
She moved towards the light

Inside she found Chadwick preparing several coffee containers to go. He looked surprised and said, "Hey, I thought you and the crew were done?"

She gave him a nod of affirmation ''You are right, we have finished filming earlier today. I was just passing in the area to access damage and scout for any potential fallout from the devastation earlier.''
Her tattered dress could confirm that she did just not drop out of a party
She turned her head towards the coffee containers
''For the rescue teams and survivors?'' she ventured

He replied, “As the Assistant Manager I felt it was an executive decision to support our emergency responders any way we can. That’s employee of the month material. I am just getting this ready so Xing-Shen can take the next batch out.”

That brought a smile to Galatea's lips ''Very good initiative Chadwick. I'll put my two cents in with upper management to make sure that you both get employee of the month but an extra promotion for you on top of that. I do think we need more socially conscious and forward thinking people at the helm.''
She looked around
''Anything I can do to help? Pastries or sandwiches perhaps?''

"Sandwiches would be great, I just didn't have the time, with trying to get all the coffee prepared," he admitted.

''Allright'' She moved in to wash her hands ''I'll help you prepare some but I can't guarantee for how long" she held back a yawn while saying that
''It's been a rough few couple of hours...speaking of: everything allright on you end?''

“I mean it’s been a weird few months,” he admitted. “But I am doing better than most people, so I can’t complain.”
“Just try and help.”

''Agreed.'' she began prepping sandwiches before wondering ''Will corporate agree with your initiative?''

"It seems like a win-win for everyone, but I don't know but it seemed like the right thing to do," he responded.

''I think you are right in doing this but not everyone has common sense. Still, your initiative will warm a lot of people who need it. That's what matters is it not?''

"People gotta do the right thing, to help. So whatever they think of this, I feel like I made the right call," he admitted. "Honestly it's crazy how much damage was done so quickly, like what can we do it there are more elites like that?"

''We will have to be smart'' she said ''Still...if conquest was their goal why not send a bigger force at once and use the shock and the awe to press their advantage?''

"I don't know, I don't have a lot of details on anything, if this was the start of a war, I think we lost," he said darkly.

''No...not quite.'' she chopped some lettuce ''That monster was an herald of some sort. She gave us three years to submit or else. It might be a false assumption to use human logic here but why would someone come to make a disaster and then leave? Like I said earlier...why not launch a full assault while we are unprepared?''
She finished a few sandwiches
''They are playing mind games. Not what I would expect from people with such a huge overpowering advantage. Their edge might not as big as we expect.''
