Uri-el stands for his final confession, his burning eyes reflected in the lens. The lights came up in what had become Angel Pattern 4.
"I have learned a great deal during my time in this competition, enough to know that becoming a member of an UNJE team is not the appropriate step for me. I am required to walk a different path, and I will begin to do so now."
He took a breath.
"Over the course of these months, I conducted investigations into the two incidents which marked the beginning of our season--the battle in the slums lead by Steel Mosha and the exploding suit at the waterfront. In the course of these investigations, I discovered that power still corrupts, that those who believe themselves superior to others readily succumb to the worst impulses, and that the frailties of those who choose to do good are used routinely to justify those who choose to do wrong. In the process, I took part in an operation that cost human lives, and while I myself killed no one, I failed to confront the one who did. I am going to correct this, and in so doing I hope to provide her with a choice, the same choice that we all face each day. Namely, the choice to stop what we are doing and to do something else, something that helps this world to be a little better than it is. She may refuse, but I will never stop providing her the opportunity to redeem herself. After all, no one else can do that for you. You alone can make that choice, as I have done, and as I hope that you and many others will do as well."
"That is all."
