Elite Ability Limitations

While Elites are capable of grand feats that are superhuman, supernatural, or even seem impossible/improbable there do seem to be some limitations on the extent of their abilities. Elites can create a semblance of intelligent life but this is always temporary, and requires constant concentration, maintenance, or other means for any prolonged activity.

While alternate realities and multiverse theory are rumored to exist, no Elite has shown the ability to access these other realities or move themselves through time. Teleportation-like abilities have been encountered and observed; they seem limited to travel in the forward direction through time and seem limited to movement within our reality. It is suspected that some Elites may even be capable of approaching the speed of light in a vacuum, or percentages thereof but has not been proven yet.

Many Elites have abilities that could be applied to medical purposes, from enhancing immunity to regeneration of limbs and organs. Healing abilities run the gamut of capability but one thing that seems to elude Elites is complete resurrection of a dead organic creature. Some can animate corpses and even give them a semblance of life but this does not last and the semblance is imperfect. Some Elites have been able to recover from grievous injuries, even what appeared to be mortal ones. But these abilities cannot be used on others and recovery is usually within a few hours of supposed death, what is believed to have happened is that the body goes into a comatose “low power” state so it can reconstitute itself minimizing psychic trauma. But this capability is fairly rare.

OOC: If there is a question on if an ability breaks these “rules” just ask in a private message, Discord, or in your private folder. In general anything that creates duplicates or summons, or creates “life” can last at most a scene. Inorganic matter is not subject to this rule, within reason.
