The world in 2032 is still quite diverse but culture is also homogenizing over entertainment and forms of dress for those that are terminally online and doom scrolling. Social Media has infected most pieces of a person’s life, one’s online presence is just as important for many people as their real life presence in fact more so since people can curate their own online personas.
Elites have changed society, they are celebrities just for being Elites but also have entered other arenas; most Elites don’t fight crime or act like super heroes in a typical “superhero” setting. Most Elites use their abilities in non-combat pursuits; actors, research, working in government, and well any kind of role really. Many Elites tend to license their likeness if they get famous enough and sell their talents for a top tier lifestyle. Above that are those that are willing to risk their lives like the Justice Elite and other Elite peacekeepers.
One of the easiest paths to fame is through social media and going viral, just being an Elite is not usually enough, they have to do something or be interesting. Typically this means lifestyle coaches, fashion, prank/entertainment, and niche creators. There were some fitness and beauty creators early and to an extent beauty is still a niche but when it became obvious that Elites often can achieve their physique without exercise or just change how they look there was a great deal of backlash toward such creators and advertisers avoided them like the plague. Elite influencers are popular and can gain huge following for a variety of reasons but it does take work and the top tier influencers tend to have teams behind them to help them, leading to an industry of studios and teams who specialize in this niche.
The movie industry while Hollywood in the US will say they dominate in the last fifteen years three new players have dominated the international scene and seen great success in the United States as well. The three major centers are in India, Korea, and Great Britain; China would consider itself a major player and it does create stunning films but Korea still consistently creates more world wide hits especially for the “silver screen”. Korea probably has the market cornered on dramatic series internationally which has a side effect of making shows more conservative to fit the more conservative mindset of Korean culture. Bollywood style musicals are all the rage, imitated across many nations and studios. One of the big stars is the Elite starlet, Deepika Ranat, often called the world’s most beautiful woman. Her performances are unforgettable, she can act, dance, and sing and commands top tier rates. Her last series of films one part musical another part action film have shattered previous records. The Red Queen series of films are a phenomenon and people care calling it modern mythology redefined.
Popular series on streaming networks and local stations are reality-based shows including the addicting “My life, Elite” following the life of Elite celebrity, Phoenix a one-time member of Justice Elite now retired it follows his everyday life with his family. It’s wholesome, some would call boring at times, but also a great feel-good show that delivers good vibes. But for those that want more entertaining and trashy media, there is always “Elite Temptations” where six couples are brought to an island and try to see if their relationship can survive sexy Elite tempters. Spoilers, most don’t.
Video Games are a big time industry and while games focusing on Elites are big money but one of the biggest modern hits is a slice of life survival game set in a high school and has a gacha element of collecting dogs, dog girls, and dog boys named Dog Days. It was created in China and has been a monster hit around the world. Most gaming happens on smart devices now on the go, mobile gaming has superseded gaming at home.
