While not the whole city was in a state of disaster much of the city suffered and the UNJE and the local emergency services are engaged with recovery efforts to find survivors and remove debris. Efforts are moving at a lightning pace as they have access to high technology and a great deal of elite support from the UNJE.

OOC: Make a skill check or Power check, at DC 20 to aid the efforts. Players can make one roll per time slot, and use a different skill or Power check each time.

Bea was hard at work, searching for missing people with her ability to search areas quickly, with many eyes, and into areas with blocked pathways. All her supernatural senses alert.

Alas, she didn't find anyone that could still be saved that early afternoon.

Had she missed someone? It would gnaw at her mind, but she could not know.

But she did at least track the locations of the bodies found for the police, took pictures where she had room to manifest in her human form, and checked wallets for IDs, and all the sad business of finding a corpse. That was all that could be done.

Frankie was using her ninja skills not to ninja, but figure out places where people might be hiding. Under rubble. And stuff like that. It was totally a thing! Sure, most people would try and use their eyes and stuff to look for people. That made sense to some people. But she was trying to put herself in the mind of someone who was... hiding... from the rescue workers... which... didn't really make sense but it somehow worked. Sort of. She actually found some people to help!

As he had in the early morning hours, Arturo called out to animals still in the area, asking them to help search for anyone in need. Dogs, cats, birds and rodents responded and did what they could.

Despite the seriousness of the situation, the loss the community had experienced, there were still those selfish few who came to rubberneck or even worse, to chase the clout. Influencers were there helping the majority of their time spent setting up camera angels and getting in the way of the actual helpers.

Seeing one particularly aggressive influencer with a large entourage, Camilo decided they needed to be scared off before they got someone hurt or prevented someone being saved.

Leaping over to them, Camilo executed a perfect superhero landing in front of their cameras, blocking their shot. Standing he turned to the man he somewhat recognized and seemed to be the center of activity, "It is dangerous here and there are people trying to working. You need to leave." He tried his best staredown to backup his words. Instead of hearing the noise of the crew packing up, he heard other murmurings behind him. People asking if they'd gotten that on camera, pondering if they could ask him to do it again but more in frame.

It was hopeless. These people were beyond help and he wouldn't resort to violence to remove them. Not yet.

It happened in every disaster: fear of looters led to an uptick in vigilantism, incidents of people "defending property" against the newly homeless and desperate. In this instance, refugees in a mostly-intact supermarket had come under siege as the self-righteous and well-armed took umbrage with their need.

There was a hairy moment as the Seraph's arrival nearly galvanized the bourgeois gun-toters (who initially assumed he was on their side) began to move on the store, only to be stopped short by Uri-el's shout. When he drew his sword and demonstrated a quick advance with a single beat of his mighty wings, they got the idea. Situation: diffused.
