[Day 2 - EE] Just the Facts

[Dapper Dog]

Detective Hakim Nasir waited in the office for the students, he was accompanied by the UNJE agent, jane Foster. He had not met the woman but he knew of her as they ran in similar circles. The circle being law enforcement around Elites.

She sat quietly and he saw no need to break the silence.

[Babble]

"Hello? You are the ones we are supposed to see about last night?" Arturo asked as he arrived.

[Iris Pythia]

Iris arrived a little later, nodding at Babble with a determined expression on her face.

She was holding a large sketchbook under one arm while an eye on the back of her palm regarded the room curiously.

[Dapper Dog]

"Hello? You are the ones we are supposed to see about last night?" Arturo asked as he arrived.

"This is Special Agent Jane Foster with the UNJE and I am Detective Nasir, we just wanted to ask you a few questions about last night," he said gruffly.


Agent Foster added, "No one is in trouble."

[Babble]

He nodded. "Anything we can do to help."

[Iris Pythia]

"Yeah, sure."

Iris shifts for a moment.

"I might have an image of the suspect, or at least someone related. But I'd appreciate if how that information was acquired doesn't go beyond this room."

[Thousand Miles]

There is a peng! sound and suddenly Thousand Miles appeared from thin air.

"Sorry I'm late," Miles said. "This is about last night, right? How can I help?"

[Dapper Dog]

"Juist tell us what happened, in your own words," she asked.


The detective said to Iris, "And how was this image acquired?"

[Iris Pythia]

"I used my abilities."

Iris does not elaborate further, instead setting her sketchbook down and turning it to a pretty excellent sketch of a striking woman:

"Whoever they are, they seemed to be the one controlling, or at least behind the armoured figure."
She looks around the room.

"So, anyone recognise her?"

[Babble]

"That's her." Arturo confirmed. "I saw her, too."

[Dapper Dog]

“Evidence generated by Elite powers such as visions, pre or post cognition, clairvoyance… et al are not permissible evidence. I can hold onto this but unless I can verify it through other means it’s circumstantial at best. Maybe,” the Detective responded.

“Basic international laws, but this could be helpful,” he added in his deep voice and gruff demeanor.


Special Agent Foster said, “Nuani Kagumbo, she claims to be the daughter of the ex-president of the DCP, an Elite. She’s a basic warlord that escaped the collapse of the regime, runs an outfit called Mokele Mbembe. Mercenaries and now potentially terrorists. She’s on a lot of lists, but nothing concrete to attach a warrant to.”

[Iris Pythia]

Iris' eyebrows raise when Arturo mentions he'd also sighted the fiend. That meant her vision had been accurate.

And then Foster provided a name.

"Well I didn't think we were going to arrest her based on a sketch. But she's involved in this somehow."

Although, that raised another question.

"...Why would some some nepo-baby warlord mercenary want Frankie? I mean Frankie is..."

Long pause.

"...There's a lot to her, but what would warrant sending some remote controlled suit loaded down with explosives in to nab her?"

[Ultimate Frankie]

Frankie entered and said, "I think I got lost, and... this isn't studyhall, yeah?"

"Shit, I mean, hi."

[Dapper Dog]

"Let's start from the top, give me your full name and describe the incident as you remember it, one at a time please," he said, folding his arms across his chest.

[Iris Pythia]

Iris frowns slightly but hey, lawmen gonna lawmen.

She provides her information and relays to the best of her abilities everything she saw during the incident.

Although out of annotance she finishes with:

"And then Miles kindly teleported me to a hospital where I learnt my spleen, half my face and several important other body parts had either been blown or burnt off. Which was as fun as it sounds."

[Ultimate Frankie]

Frankie added after a pause, “Frankie Reynes, we got attacked by the green machine and I got a pole in my chest and then I was okay and it sucked. And I guess it was this sketch lady? Whose sketch lady, yeah? She’s probably the worst.”

[Babble]

"Iris saw the danger. Iris saw the true nature of the suit. Miles rescued Frankie ans Iris. He damaged the suit, too. I tried to stop the self destruct. I established a link with the suit and commanded it to stop. That's when I saw her. She was still controlling it. She overrode me. Then, it exploded." Arturo explained.

[Dapper Dog]

“How do you all know that Frankie was the target? Did the assailant make any identifying remarks? Just trying to piece together this bit for the investigation,” she asked as she listened to the evidence.

[Thousand Miles]

“From what I saw, the air cracked and a hole opened and this robot suit thing came out,” Miles recalled. “A woman’s voice said ‘Give me the girl’ in good French. This could've meant anyone, but then the robot thing backhanded Iris and tried to go around her to chase Frankie into the boba shop. And, it's circumstantial, but I thought the cracks in the air had the same aesthetic as Frankie’s teleport effect.”

Miles shrugged. “It’s not proof, but it sure looked like it was after Frankie.”

[Iris Pythia]

Nodding.

"And my powers saw the suit and this Nuani both after Frankie. If someone was trying to kidnap me my aunts would have given me a buzz."
