[Thousand Miles]

Thousand Miles stopped by the offices of Chang Associates, which seemed to be the business address for Chang Heng Siong, the businessman who had gone missing, then mysteriously reappeared.

"Oh, hello, I don't have an appointment but I wanted to just check in on Mr. Chang to make sure he's okay," Miles told the receptionist. "I'm from the Elite Academy and from Singapore, myself, so I thought it would be proper to check on a fellow countryman."

The interior is very modern and sleek with a slight motif of Singapore artifacts and pictures that seem to show what business they are in. It seems to be a mix of finance and real estate. The office seems to be a single floor in this industrial tower, the fourth floor.

The centerpiece of the reception area is a penguin statue, which carries on the theme from the logo. The receptionist smiled and said, “Welcome, Thousand Miles, do you have an appointment?”

"I don't have an appointment," Miles admitted. "I just wanted to make sure Mr. Chang was doing alright after the, uh, incident. If he is too busy to see me, it's OK."

[Dapper Dog]

The receptionist listened and typed on their laptop before replying, “You are in luck, a slot has opened and he can see you. Please take the stairs up behind me and head to his office at the end of the hall.

They hand you a visitor’s badge.

A short walk later and he was in the office of Mr. Chang which looked in a bit of a state with files open and assistants going through paperwork. Mr. Chang was by the window smoking and said, “Thousand Miles, right? I have a nephew that likes your contents? You do the social media right? Come to give me an interview?”

[Thousand Miles]

"Certainly, if you don't mind," Miles agreed, bringing out his phone camera to start recording. "Mr. Chang, I know you had an, uhh, unusual experience last night in the bad part of town - but it turned out alright in the end. Would you mind telling our #1000Miles family a little about it?"

[Dapper Dog]

He took a deep drag from his cigarette and then said in his native tongue, “Now that’s a story, it feels like a dream but really, I just… I just saw the light. My eyes were opened to the plight of the impoverished back home and I knew I had to do something about it. It was like a whisper in my mind, yeah.”

“I am working on putting together a dinner with some of my peers and open their eyes to the business opportunity to give back to the communities we have exploited as business men. We got to do better,” he said finishing his cigarette.

“The Malay people don’t have the voice they need, and if we can be that voice then we can make a difference. That’s the voice that I hear and I want to make it real.”

"It's a noble sentiment," Miles allowed. "Um, what made you decide on such a change of heart? Was there some experience you had while lost in the low city that inspired you to help?"

[Dapper Dog]

“It’s all a blur, I probably drank too much… she was real pretty, smart girl… or was that the other one? But I just went out for drinks, nothing my wife would be mad about. If she knew. You know business. And then I remember…”

“Oh there was like a fortune teller? She read my fortune, she was different, not a local, maybe a Malay? No, there was a pretty girl from like south America… eh all that matters is that I need to do the right thing now. Probably stop drinking so much,” he said with mild confusion.

"Oh? Did the fortune teller, um, help you on the path to 'doing the right thing'?" Miles asked. "Where did you meet her?"

[Dapper Dog]

"I don't remember, I was at home then I was out, I drank too much," he said with confusion. "but she was helpful, I wanted her help in finding the right path. I was lost you see. I am organizing a gala in a few weeks so everyone can see what I see. I think I mentioned that."

"Helping the poor folks is what we should do."

[Thousand Miles]

Miles nodded. It was clear that Chang's memory was too fuzzy to get much more.

"A charitable gala sounds great," Miles said agreeably. "Can you tell our viewers a little about it? Will it be invitation-only? How can people donate, if they want to?"

[Dapper Dog]

“Sure, so the gala will be Halloween themed on the 30th of October, it’s going to be a big event with lots of opportunities for high money donors to give to the people. Check this qr code for more details and follow the company’s social media,” he said.

[Thousand Miles]

Miles zoomed in on the QR code. "Halloween gala for needy Malaysians - give if you can, it's a good cause!" he said, flashing a peace sign as he pitched Chang's event. "I'll be there, hope to see you there too!"

Finishing the recording, Miles turned to thank Chang Heng Siong. "I appreciate the interview, hopefully it'll drive some clicks to your site."
