[Day 4, LM, Open] Chai, Chai, and Chai Again

[Babble]

During a lull in customers, Arturo began putting up seasonal decorations.

[Dapper Dog]

“They do have an Elite Chai, yes, my soul is saved,” a young woman said as eh entered and looked around. “It’s a nice one too, not like the one back in Philly, gurl… I am tellin’ you this city is preen.”

She walked up to the counter, “Gurl… I am telling you, this place is nice.” She then said aloud to the staff, “Hey, can you get me a chai with latte infusion, almond milk, three sugars, with some nutmeg on top. Oh, and one of them croissants.”

Back to her phone call she said, “Oh no he did not, I told you gurl, dump his ass… he is triflin’.”

[Babble]

"Chai with latte infusion, almond milk, three sugars, with some nutmeg on top. and a croissant." He quickly put the order together. "Are you an Elite Chai Champion rewards member?"

[Dapper Dog]

"One second, gurl," she then held out her phone with her Elite Chai app for the rewards. "You look familiar, you an influencer?"

[Babble]

"No." he shook his head. "Never really got into that. You've earned a free cookie. Would you like to redeem it?"

[Bee Haw]

Bea was there, on a mission to clean the counters and tables meticulously.

She smiled at the customer.

"What's your name, neighbor? We try to learn our customer's names and orders!" She was mentally mapping the woman's face to 'a chai with latte infusion, almond milk, three sugars, with some nutmeg on top', while another worker prepared the drink.

[Dapper Dog]

"Gimme dem cookies," she said warmly. To Bee Haw she said, "Ayesha, ya'll be friendly, I like it."

[Bee Haw]

"Are you a student at the University?" she asked, curiously.

[Dapper Dog]

"Are you a student at the University?" she asked, curiously.

"Nah, I work in the city," she said honestly. "Are you a student?"

[Babble]

"Macademia Coconut or Triple Chocolate?" Arturo asked.

[Bee Haw]

She shook her head, and waited for her to answer Arturo's question about the cookie.

And then:

"No, I'm here for a contest being run by UNJE. It will be part of a television program. Elite Academy. In my free time, I work here and volunteer at Ethiopian Animal Rescue & Sanctuary. What kind of work do you do?"

[Dapper Dog]

“I work at a science firm, under NDA so I can’t really talk much about it,” she admitted. To Arturo she said, “Surprise me.”

“It’s a bunch of theoretical stuff, but at least it’s a paid job. Wait, so are you an elite?”

[Babble]

He gave her the triple chocolate. "Sounds a bit like my internship at the STEM Center."

[Bee Haw]

"Oh! You are both brilliant. I'll know who to ask my science questions. I don't suppose either of you happen to study ... gosh, would it be physics? Astronomy? The potential existence of other universes?

"Yes, I'm an Elite."

[Dapper Dog]

"Gurl, I'll call you back, my food is ready," she said to the phone. "Is that what he is studying?"

[Babble]

"That's a bit outside of my major." He admitted.

[Dapper Dog]

"What's your major?" she asked as she tasted her drink. "Damn this is good."

[Babble]

"Computer science and communication." He answered.

[Dapper Dog]

"I spent so many nights steeped in code, that takes me back," she admitted. "How is it going for you?"

[Babble]

"Pretty well. Some things can be overwhelming, which is always difficult. There are just too many ways to apply what I've learned. I kept changing directions." He confessed. "But, I think I've finally figured it out."
