There was no rhyme or reason to the collection, the books ran the gamut of topics from cookbooks to science fiction to trashy romance novels and poetry and everything in between. They were also in a variety of languages including some in braille.

Shadow went up into the sky as Janet drove off, going to the top of the highest point to watch and track where she was going until she finally went out of sight. After that, and having remembered what way to go, she dropped back down and went inside again. Shutting and locking the door, and taking off her hoodie for the first time before going to the food stores and going through everything in there one by one, checking if it was sealed packaging or if anything had been put in, and examining everything with the eye of a paranoid person checking for tampering. It would likely take a long time.

Satisfied, everything was placed back mostly as it was. She then began a more wider inspection, looking for cameras or any listening devices. She began with the bedrooms, and would work across to the library before going downstairs.

The house seems clean besides one room on the first floor which seems to have monitors attached to cameras in the basement and cameras in the barn, and different view points of the farm property. Otherwise, everything else seems normal.
Deciding to deal with the monitor room later, Shadow hopped on her board again outside and went up to where that room on the second floor would be to see if there were windows.

Needing what was in the place she was staying more than a sense of just waiting to ask, the window was opened and she pushed the curtains to a side to look in.

The interior is dimly lit by the swaying curtain obscuring the morning light but there are desks against the wall and one wall has what looks like a map with pictures and files pinned against it with strings connecting them in some cases and pinned notes on locations. There is an old computer sitting on the desk under the conspiracy-like map and more files and external hard drives stacked on it.
