[Tsehay Moqe]

Tsehay Moqe did not even look at the fleeing cyborg woman as she was focused on saving lives. She called upon her solar power and focused on an apartment with a trapped family. She was able to melt the wall away so they could all escape, it did not help stability but haste and lives took precedence.

“This way, hurry!” she said, trying to guide them.

[Dapper Dog]

The structure began to crumble fast, most of the tenants were out but there were still four people including an infant trapped on the second floor with no way out. The building was a blazing inferno and collapse was imminent.

OOC: One round to collapse. Tehay Moqe has acted, but you can in any order to save the building.

[Bee Haw]

A baby alone in a crib, on the 2nd floor. Utterly helpless. She could see exactly where.

One psychic bee hovered over the baby.

And she could fly. Above the flame, in the haze of the smoke, but she remembered the location. She could see through her chain of bees.

She had to get the baby.

And maybe anyone else on that path? But the fire was getting really bad! She could not choke on the smoke! She could not drop this baby! Hold on. Focus. Do what has to be done. A burst of her power calmed the terrified child, perhaps easing its trauma.

[Uri-el]

Uri-el launches back into action with a great flap of his mighty wings. This was, in some ways, easier than his work in the harbor. After all, there was little chance of getting waterlogged and drowning. Impervious to the fire, he sweeps through a window seemingly too small to accommodate him, grabs hold of the first civilian before they can even scream in holy terror, folds them in his arms, and then accelerates to 180 mph to shoulder his way through the weakening wall of the building. That makes the rescue of the other two that much easier. And, averaging a rescue per second, Uri-el is soon back on top of the bus counting people.

The building collapses, but the tenants inside are safe. The emergency personnel are arriving given the location is “safe”, but Tsehay Moqe stays alert for any other issues.

OOC: Danger has passed for now.

[Bee Haw]

Bee Haw looks relieved that everyone was saved. Thank goodness they were all here!

She will introduce herself to Frequency, who she had not met before. "I'm Bea Hawkins. Also called Bee Haw. I'm so glad you were here to help."

She checks to see if anything more is needed to help the 13 people. Everyone saved!

She also asks the group: "Shall I try to track the woman who fled? It's a long shot maybe, but I could try."


(She has the 'tracking' superpower under senses.)

"If we are no longer needed here..." Uri-el ventured, looking to Tsehay Moqe.

[Tsehay Moqe]

Tsehay Moqe said in Amharic, “Thank you, it was not your duty to help but you did so anyway and I am thankful. The people will recover and the damage would have been far worse if…” she said before trailing off.

She frowned and said, “I must go, please be safe.” her form glows brightly before she takes to the sky living a living beam of sunlight and flies towards another section of the city.

[Bee Haw]

Bee Haw watched Tsehay shine away. Was something else wrong somewhere else in the city?

She hoped not!

But that seemed to also signal that they did not need to stay.

"I'll see if I can pick up her trail. It's a long shot, but I can search in several directions quickly."

And then she turned into a swarm of bees dividing up to cover the different paths possible, in the direction the Steel villain woman had leaped away. That woman had put so many lives in danger! And destroyed the building! Best if they could catch her.

But too much time had passed. She couldn't pick up the trail.

She returned to the others to report that she couldn't find her.

"That is unfortunate, but I suspect we shall see her again. Perhaps we can interview some of these gangsters and get a clue? I am afraid that I do not speak the local language, but perhaps one of them knows what all this was about."

[Bee Haw]

"I can speak Amharic. I can also just ... read their minds."

"It is probably justified. If there are more bombs, we need to know."

She pauses, considering.

[Uri-el]

Uri-el nodded along.

"And we would need to learn that quickly, I should think."

A police vehicle approached, a sedan with flashing lights as more emergency personnel arrived. The officer in charge stepped out and started barking orders in the native language before approaching the Elites and said in English, “Hey, you guys licensed?”

“I thought Tsehay Moqe was here, who’re you guys?” His badge read Detective Hakim Nasir in English under the Amharic.

[Bee Haw]

"Hello, Detective Nasir. It is an honor to meet you. My name is Bea Hawkins, sometimes called Bee Haw. We are part of the Elite Academy program." Her tone was very earnest and respectful. A young woman with great respect for police officers.

"Tsehay Moqe was here, yes. I believe the other three of us just happened to be close enough to pitch in and help, when trouble erupted. She was present as we assisted. You only just missed her. She did not leave until everyone was rescued."

By now, she'd also had time to read the incapacitated gang members' minds.

"These gang members were here to fight a rival gang. Steel Mosha is technically not of their gang but works for a group called the Brass Orchid. She was helping them in their gang fight since they push drugs and run security for this larger crime syndicate. She had planted a bomb in the apartment complex that she detonated as part of her escape. We were able to rescue all of the people present in the building. No casualties."

"Steel Mosha did escape mid-fight. We focused on saving the endangered civilians."

"These gang members are not aware of any other bombs."

"Please let us know if there is anything more we can do to help."

[Dapper Dog]

"Hmmph, well thanks for the help but time to stand down," he said gruffly. "We can take it from here."

[Uri-el]

Uri-el was impressed by Bea's ease with the police. Accustomed to deferring to authority himself, he nodded once and turned to Bea and Frequency.

"I assume no one needs a lift?"

[Bee Haw]

She could fly too, though not nearly as fast as he could.

But there was something to be said for some time to quietly process all that had happened.

"Thanks, Malik. I'll be alright. Probably a good time for a deep breath or two or twenty. You were amazing!" Heaven-sent!

Her mind was on the fight.

If she'd thought to read Steel Mosha's mind during the fight, she might have learned about the bomb in time to prevent it going off. Or if she'd compelled her to do no violent action. But she could have set it off to flee a police car same as to flee them. It just wasn't possible to prevent every violent impulse forever. And it all happened so fast. And you had to protect people and focus on active threats, right?

But they'd saved everyone. That was the main thing. The people on the street, the people on the bus, the people in the burning apartment. The baby!

She turned back to look at the couple re-united with their baby, cradling a safe happy baby in their arms. That image would stay with her.
