"We have a fine selection of teas..." he ventured in English. "Can I assist you?"

"Yeah," he said in kind, "Coffee, no sugar." He pointed at the traditional Ethiopian coffee. He was still a bit taken aback by the Angel and added, "Nice wings."

Malik nodded. "They do. I would offer a demonstration, but the space is not well-suited." He smiled (he hoped disarmingly). "Let me get you your coffee." And he stepped away to prepare the grind, returning after a moment to hand the coffee over. "That is...more expensive than I would have thought." He rattled off the number.

"Eh, it's fine. Best coffee on the block usually," he said.
