[Day 2 - LM] First Interview

[Dapper Dog]

A studio office upstairs is prepared for a comfortable interview between one of the producers and the Elite Academy contestant. It has large wall length windows allowing plenty of light and a great view of the Refuge, there is a small fridge stocked with water and refreshments and the crew is ready.

Time for an interview.

OOC: Open to any Contestant, fist come and first served.

[Frankie Reynes]

She walked into the room completely ignorant of what it was for. Oblivious to the crew present there as well. So why was she here? She'd seen the small fridge, and thought that perhaps it would house *interesting things*. Not the sort of things she would consume so early in the morning, but things that she might want to take with her for *later*.

Unfortunately, she'd forgotten that she was a ninja, and so didn't enter in the stealth-like manner that would've enabled her to go in and out without being noticed by the crew... that she hadn't noticed.

[Dapper Dog]

“Thanks for joining us, please have a seat. Let’s just get right into this, start with stating your name and stating why you are here,” she said before taking a sip of her chai from Elite Chai.

[Frankie Reynes]

"Whuh?" She was mid fridge-checking when the woman addressed her, and she turned around in surprise.

"Uhm... Frankie Reynes... I thought there'd be... energy drinks... yeah. In the fridge, yeah?" She eyed a chair, then sheepishly sat down.

[Dapper Dog]

“Go ahead, there should be some in there. Once you get comfortable you can answer the question. Oh and you have the crew’s condolences about last night. I am amazed at how well you recovered from the explosion,” she said.

[Frankie Reynes]

"I thought I did answer the question..." she blinked, then reached over for the fridge and gathered up a bunch of energy drink cans that she then cradled in her lap as she looked back at the woman.

"...wait, what explosion?"

[Dapper Dog]

“The attack on the boba tea place?” she said. “We have some footage, if you don’t remember.”

[Frankie Reynes]

"The what now? I didn't have any boba yesterday..." she blinked again in confusion, before she started to come to conclusions,

"Aw mate... why didn't she come and tell me?! Uuugh... yeah uh... wait so okay, I didn't like have to go to the hospital or anything yesterday right? Because then I should probably head out of here and head over there... okay so..."

She pinched her nose for a moment.

"Right, see. You know how there's two of me, right? I'm pretty sure you have to know. It's probably somewhere in the paperwork or what not. So... *other* Frankie was clearly the one... she's okay, yeah?"

[Dapper Dog]

“Oh,” was the response as she checked her notes on her tablet and then said, “Yes, she is fine. False alarm then. But tell me more about that. Are you two twins? Or just happen to look alike?”

[Frankie Reynes]

She slumped back in the chair a little upon here she was fine, nodding at that update.

"Well I'm not really supposed to say, it's kind of a secret, but we're more like the same person from different realities, yeah? It's complicated, but it's our *thing* I guess. What gives us powers and such, yeah? But it's good to know she's fine. You'd think she'd let me know, but I guess maybe she was spaced out on painkillers or something? Yeah, that must be it."

"Usually I'm the one getting caught up in explosions and stuff, so I think this is pretty new to her."

[Dapper Dog]

“Different realities, now you have to explain that. What do you mean with different realities? Are you both from different realities?” she asked with encouragement.

[Frankie Reynes]

"No, just me. Different universe and all. But really, I'm not supposed to talk about it. In fact, forget I said anything. I'm just having a laugh, yeah? So... anyway, what's all *this* then?" She gestured at the room around her, and the camera crew.

[Dapper Dog]

“Let’s circle back, I believe you and I want to hear more about your reality. What’s it like compared to this reality?” she asked.

“Tell me something different from here?” she said with an earnest look.

[Frankie Reynes]

"I'm really not supposed to... but okay yeah... I don't know all that's different because I only just got here, yeah? But I heard you guys had a war between America and China yeah? And that's not a thing where I'm from. And London's not independent 'ere? And you guys call us 'Elites' instead of just like, Supers or Metahumans and what not. And I guess you guys have different superheroes than us, yeah? Although for some reason you guys have the Bulk same as us. Although she got eaten by a mutant crocodile where I'm from."

[Dapper Dog]

“So, your reality did not have the Chinese-American War in eastern Asia? And what do you mean by an independent London?” she asked.

“Let’s start there but I have so many questions.”

[Frankie Reynes]

"You guys didn't have Brexit? Or wait, I think you did? Anyway, we weren't having any of that, so when they did it, we had Lexit, and rejoined the EU yeah? It's mostly worked out. Border situation gets a little messy every now and then, but it's fine. Anyway, why am I telling you all of this? I really shouldn't, yeah?"

[Dapper Dog]

“Because we want to know more about you, Frankie. This is your chance to tell your story for the audience. People want to know ho Elites like you live and do what you do. I am hoping to put a human face to that,” she said warmly.

“So do they have a Justice Elite in your reality, I am guessing not. What are your… metahumans, was it, what are they like?”

[Frankie Reynes]

"Nah, we got the revengers, yeah? And like, lots of other teams and what not. But most metahumans just like, live out their lives yeah? It's only the minority that turn into superheroes or villains yeah? Mostly because people's just gonna be people, no matter what they can do or not do. Most people just want to have the normal life, so what if they can make fire with their fingertips? For most people I guess that's just a neat way to light a cigarette and look cool."

She turned to the camera at that; "Don't smoke, kids."

Then back to the woman; "And anyway, I guess most meta's don't have the big powers that let them rob banks or fly into burning buildings to save the kids inside, init?"

She shrugged. "But I don't know how to relate to normal life, exactly, myself. Stuff just happens to me, yeah? Like with that explosion with other Frankie. Not a day goes by without *something* happening. So I guess I find myself involved with that sort of stuff whether I want to or not. So even if I'm not a superhero or anything, I try to steer things in the right direction when they come my way, yeah?"

[Dapper Dog]

“So, these Revengers, what are they like? And if you are from another world, how did you get here? Can you go back?” she asked in a series of questions.

[Frankie Reynes]

"I guess they were like the first superhero team that made it to the 'saving the world from this week's big bad' leagues, yeah? So they got to be the gold standard I guess, and inspired everyone else. And then they started setting up local chapters. Like the West Coast Revengers. The London Revengers. And so on."

"I don't know how I got here. I was just doing my usual morning teleport to breakfast when I ended up here by mistake. But I mean, weird stuff happens to me all the time, so I'm not super surprised either. I don't think I can go back. At least not yet. I got stuff to do here. You know, heroics and stuff. Maybe finish filming this show too. Besides, other than other Frankie blowing up yesterday, it seems a lot safer to be me here so far, so I might just stay."
