Elites

The question of what an Elite is has been a growing discussion since the Emergence in 2012 and even after twenty years the discussion has not relented. So, what is an Elite? Elites are considered humans that have exceptional, supernatural abilities, capabilities, and even forms. Elites have exhibited abilities like flight, telekinesis, to even matter manipulation. They have shown abilities that at times, seem impossible or even contradict the physical established laws and sciences of the modern age. Elites can have impossible body forms from being fully metallic, or gaseous, or even grotesque forms. With this vast variety of forms and abilities it can make it difficult to establish facts on Elites, but they do exist.

Elites have shown a high resistance to most baseline ailments and illnesses; the common cold, the flu, and even to long term ailments like diabetes and even cancer. This does not apply to those Elites who can create disease or similar effects, but through natural means they seem virtually immune. They still need food and rest and all the basic human functions which can create some bizarre situations; it should be noted that some Elites have the ability to forego such basic needs, but this is an exception. It is also suspected that Elite lifespans are much longer than baseline humanity, no Elite has died due to “natural aging” even if they emerged much later in their lives. In fact, the body seems to go through a renewal process that repairs the effects of aging. Their bodies are much more resistant to physical harm than the baseline and recover much more quickly from injury.

Typically, an Elite has an emergence, the common term for getting their powers, during adolescence well into their thirties but it can happen later. Emergence is different for every Elite, sometimes it is instantaneous while others can take several weeks or months of transformation and changes. There is no clear reason for these emergences. Some suspected there may have been DNA signifiers or genetic markers, or perhaps a reaction due to stress or trauma, or they were chosen for some purpose but there is no clear evidence to support any of these. Now some speculate that this is just human evolution, but the facts are much clearer here as Elites are sterile even if they were pregnant when they emerged, the pregnancy becomes inviable.
