[Day ??? - ???] Glitches get Stitches (????)

Frankie appeared back in the Black market this time on the other side of the door, the VIP area of the Champagne Room. It was eerily quiet. The door behind her was charred, the more she looked the more she saw damage from fire… maybe rust? Dried blood?

No activity.

It was quiet like a grave.

[Frankie Reynes]

The dried blood was like... yeah, sure, that tracked. What with vampire lady and all. She'd probably did that thing she did to Frankie to loads of other people before, including in here. The fire? Eh. Maybe someone'd fought back. Or maybe it was just an aesthetic choice by the interior designer.

She briefly considered calling out to see if anyone was there; but that seemed like a dumb idea even to her, so she didn't. Instead, she started to look around for anything she might be able to grab or look at that could help her and the others investigate Eric Gibson. Or even just the triad; but ideally Eric Gibson. Papers... computers... whatever clues and things might be around.

The area is strewn with ruined objects and tables with layers of dust. There is an absence of people, and she finds computers, but they have no power, are damaged, or just so far gone that they are just piles of junk. She noticed part of the ceiling is missing exposing the sky above and it is a clear night sky.

The place is a silent ruin.

There are not even the normal sounds of the city, it’s very quiet with the wind breaking the silence.

"Okay well this is weird," she said out loud to herself, looking at all this, "Why would they keep a bunch of broken computers in the top secret VIP room?"

Then she looked up at the hole in the ceiling.

"Or not patch the roof? Not very secure. We should've just come in through here."

She teleported up onto the roof, right next to the hole, just to look at things from a different angle maybe.

Everything is fine? Quiet at least.

"Oh... knackers! Not again!" she yelled out upon seeing that sight.

Time travel? Nah, probably not yeah? She'd never time travelled before, and if this was what that eldritch alien god entity had talked about... well, she figured if the universe got destroyed, it wouldn't still... be here... albeit in ruins.

So... had she switched universes again? If so, that was not great. She was just starting to get a little used to the last one!

She'd hop off the roof, to walk through the streets. Maybe there'd be one of these scenes that always happen in movies or comics when someone wakes up to the apocalypse; where there's a convenient newspaper just laying there, giving some tantalizing hint about how it all happened.

"Hello?!" She called out, this time not too worried about crazy vampire lady showing up to try and kill her, while she kept looking for clues.

She wandered and found… newspapers written in a language that she does not understand, it’s a mix strange symbols and glyphs but the pictures are alarming. The images depict lizard people, that is the best way to describe people, but they are lizards or lizard-like.

Then she noticed someone seated in what looks like a lawn chair, or beach chair as if getting tan. Upon closer inspection it’s the boy.


“Hey, what are you doing here?” he asked as she approached.

Lizardpeople? Had the mutant crocodiles mutated again? No, couldn't happen *that* fast. Maybe this Earth was just filled with lizardpeople instead of humans? But then why would they have built the exact same champagne room she was just in? But oh god. If she ever made it back she definitely couldn't tell people about this. Lizardpeople? They'd think she was crazy or something.

That's when he appeared again. It didn't exactly surprise her. In fact, it was kind of a welcome turn of events because being stuck here alone with nothing but lizardpeople bones was kind of not great.

"Uh... hey. I was just... in the other universe?" She said, "I was trying to find more info on Eric Gibson. But I got attacked by a vampire instead, and then when I tried to get into the room where he was last seen, I ended up here instead."

[Dapper Dog]

“Yeah you probably hit a pothole in the fabric of space time, that’s a one in a million shot… or billion? Maybe trillion? I don’t know math. Whose Eric Gibson?” he asked.

[Frankie Reynes]

"Uhm... the name you gave me? The last time we met? You know, the clue on how to prevent the destruction of the universe? Or *a* universe. Or something along those lines. I found out he's some scientist weapons dealer dude? But now I'm at a dead end."

She looked around. "Literally."

[Dapper Dog]

“That was probably a future me, damn. I mean I am aware of the future me and the past me. I like past me, he’s great. Future me, he’s a dick. Always lording over the fact that he already did what we have not done yet. So… your universe,” he said turning to look at Frankie.

“At least it's just going to be erased probably, these poor humans fell victim to war with the Ultrum Imperium. Interdimensional raiders. They destabilize the boundaries between worlds, invade and take the populace of worlds as slaves, food… breeding stock. The usual.”

“But, when they leave, it’s real chill and quiet. Also did you see her on the way in?”

[Frankie Reynes]

"Uh... right..." somehow this was actually starting to make sense, sort of, "...well not my universe. Or maybe my universe *too*? I don't know. My universe and the one I was in just before here, right?"

She looked around again. "Oh wait, are these the guys that invaded *my* universe but got kicked out? Or was that a different bunch of aliens? Actually I guess that's not important. Unless any of these guys are about to invade the universe I just came from, in which case a heads up would be nice. But... wait, see *who*?"

[Dapper Dog]

“Her… she gets real annoyed when I hang out with my friends, she acts like my mom, but she’s not my MOM!” He calmed down and then said, “Oh maybe, I can’t tell you lesser organic beings apart, they have a similar number of arms and legs… a head. Maybe genitals? Do you have genitals?”

“Pull up a chair, we can enjoy the silence together. I got a few million years to kill.”

[Frankie Reynes]

"Uh... yeah, but... I mean... okay never mind. And no, I didn't see your not-mom. She's not going to come here and wipe me from existence or anything, is she?"

She took a seat on a piece of rubble. "Also, I don't live long enough to kill a few million years. But I can hang out for a but. But also, it'd be really cool if you gave me like another hint to maybe save these universes."

[Dapper Dog]

“You’re really needy,” he said.

“My future self already gave you a clue right? What if I create a paradox by giving you a new clue, that’s better than his clue. Which it would be. Future me is a dick and a liar. So I am feeling generous, shoot.”

“Be careful, that rock is going into erode into dust in 3.8 billion years give or a take a decade.”

[Frankie Reynes]

"Uh, thanks, I'll be fine," she said in response to the rock comment, "But, if you're feeling generous... I don't know, maybe tell me where I might *find* Eric Gibson in the near future? And I mean like... next few days, not next few million years. I'm like a more... linear time kind of being, yeah?"

"I don't know, I'm not very smart yeah? I see a problem, I run at it straight-on. This Eric dude is like a scientist though. He's doing multiverse stuff, like me. Only through science, instead of whatever I do. You think he *knows* it's going to blow up his universe?"

“And you should not know that,” an ethereal woman’s voice said. She seemed to slip into this reality gracefully, her long gown trailing on the ground and yet remained clean and pristine. She gave the semblance of a frown, “Leave it to Xaos to continually break the rules, and for me to clean up the timeline.”

“What have you done?”


Xaos responded with a grin, “No, Eric Gibson is not aware of the larger scope of the situation. Oh Hello, Krono, right on time. See what I did there?”

[Frankie Reynes]

"...Not-mom?" She asked. Perhaps she would be easier to understand and more helpful than Xaos; though the 'you should not know' part might suggest otherwise.

"Well, I already know. And now, I'm trying to fix things. I don't want the universe to blow up. I'm in the universe. And so are like, billions of other people. Or trillions of quintillions depending on how many aliens there are, I guess."

[Dapper Dog]

“That is enough from you.”

Krono made a graceful gesture with her hand and Xaos is removed from this reality. She focused her gaze on Frankie and said, “And now what to do with you? What do you know?”

[Frankie Reynes]

She didn't blink when Xaos was removed. Erased? Probably just put into time-out. Which should still be terrifying given that he was some sort of eldritch multiverse god. But then, she wasn't afraid of anything. Which was kind of a problem, at times. But never mind that.

"Everything, luv. I know everything."

Dramatic pause.

"Actually I know very little. But, I know that I've somehow travelled between universes, and now my universe and the one I just came from, are somehow going to explode in a few months? Or get erased, or something like that. And that it's partially my fault, but there's also some guy called Eric Gibson who is messing with multiverse technology who might be making it worse? So I'm trying to make it so things don't explode, yeah? I don't want to be responsible for exploding so many people, even if I didn't do it on purpose. Anyway, so I'm trying to find Eric and make him stop doing whatever it is he's doing, yeah? And maybe fix everything else. I don't know. But I should do that, yeah?"
