[LM, Day 3] Future Planning

Arturo needed to meet with Doctor Patel regarding his project proposal and a few other ideas.

[Dr. Ivashdi Patel]

Dr. Patel was in her lab working on computer equipment and. She was seated at a desk tinkering and coding, it looked to be for some kind of advanced limb prosthetic.

“Good morning Arturo,” she said without looking up.

[Babble]

"Good morning Doctor Patel. Do you have a moment to discuss projects for my internship?" he asked.

[Dr. Ivashdi Patel]

“Oh yes, of course, Arturo,” she said putting down her work. “I hope you have been adjusting well to the Institute and that gameshow thing you are doing? You winning yet?”

[Babble]

"Kind of? I earned a sponsorship yesterday." He explained. "But, I wanted to talk to you about my work here. After the incident Monday night, I had an idea for a project."

[Dr. Ivashdi Patel]

"What is the idea, and congratulations on the sponsorship," she replied.

[Babble]

"I've written up a proposal, but I'm interested in developing a light exoskeleton body armor for first responders. Something that would boost their physical attributes and protect them from dangerous situations." He explained. "Something like this would also help me expand my abilities, which is the other thing I'd like to discuss. I wish to test my abilities fully and try to expand their limits. I hesitated Monday night and I was too slow."

[Dr. Ivashdi Patel]

On the suit idea she said, “That’s a great idea, I bet we could really help out in a number of ways, reduce fatalities, improve rescue operations, and protect first responders in emergency situations.”

“Well expanding your abilities is a good thing, Ruby is great with that kind of work, want me to patch her into this conversation?” she responded.

[Babble]

"Please." He nodded.

[Dapper Dog]

Ruby’s holographic image came up on her desk and the Doctor said, “Hey Ruby!”

Ruby replied, “Dr. Patel, ADINA filled me in. Arturo, if you are looking to work on your abilities, I’d be glad to help. We can put together a personalized training program for you. When would you like to start?”

[Babble]

"As soon as possible." he answered. "There are two areas I'm most interested in. Computer and machine communication. I've been reluctant to immerse myself fully in large or unfamiliar networks. I need to be more comfortable k e with it and better understand what I can do. The second area is body language. I don't think I'm as good at reading people as I can be. Not only could that help me socially and martially, but I could translate that understanding to coding, better AI, better VR, better robotics."

[Dapper Dog]

“I am free today in the evening, if you want to get started?” she responded.

[Babble]

"At what time? " he asked. "I do have dinner plans."

[Dapper Dog]

"At what time? " he asked. "I do have dinner plans."

"I am flexible," she responded.

OOC: Just pick an evening slot and she can make it, unless they are all filled.

"Perhaps earlier in the evening?"

"I will be there, Arturo, this should be fun," she said with a smile.

"I will see you then. Thank you." He turned to Dr. Patel. "And, thank you. Is there anything you need assistance with doctor?"

[Dr. Ivashdi Patel]

"Not offhand, but you are welcome to help and observe," she offered.

[Babble]

"Sure, I'd like that." He nodded.

[Dr. Ivashdi Patel]

“So right now I am working on a pet project incorporating miniaturized AI systems into a prosthetic limb to aid an amputee and actually improve their condition beyond what they had. The idea mirrors what we see in octopi with distributed brain power in their limbs, this means the arm can better act independently when needed with skillful precision. Like say watching a movie while your free hand writes a novel or draws a masterpiece.”
