[Day 4 - EN] It Came From Where?

[Dapper Dog]

The farming town of Chira should be quiet but right now resembled a war zone with a police vehicle flipped on its side and on fire. The local watering hole was on fire and the few people trapped inside were in danger of being burned alive or crushed by debris.

If only there were a group of heroes to aid them against this unknown threat.

OOC: Open to the first three characters on the scene. Please roll initiative.

[Frozen Shadow]

Shadow had been passing by on her way back to the farm when she heard the screams and saw what was happening. Skyskating in that direction, hidden under her hood, she narrowed her eyes. Normally she wouldn't intervene but this looked serious.

It was fortunate or perhaps terrible timing that Iris had been overhead on one of her spy flights (well, she called them spy flights, mainly it was her playing on her Switch while keeping a couple eyes on a certain Eric Gibson below) when she'd spotted the chaos at Chira, or at least part of it.

The light plane had made a rather abrupt landing nearby and she'd wildly overpaid for a beat-up moped from the local airport to hoon her way over. She didn't particularly want to watch people being burned alive if she could stop it.

[Galatea]

Galateas was there too. Initially she just had wanted to take a midnight stroll with her cameraman to make up for all the times she ditched him by giving him nice shots and a hint of night life but...it seems he would get more then that

The scene is smoky and people are trying to help put out the fire in the distance they can hear sirens from the emergency vehicles. There is a crater where a restaurant used to be with fiery debris and strewn vehicles.

There is a burning tourism bus with people trapped inside in front of the crater wrecked building.

OOC: Unknown Inits | 1d20+5 ⇒ 11 players start fifty feet from the fiery building, there may be people that need help.

[Frozen Shadow]

Seeing the situation there was a frown. She didn't like the look of this. Lowering herself down she took a moment before tilting her head up. A cloud formed in the sky, rumbling before things turned icey - winds kicking up and ice falling. A blizzard blowing through, centered around the girl and going out but somehow only going over the fires as the world around the bus and the house start to turn into an frozen land. She kept a hand on her hood though so it didn't blow off.

(ooc: moving closer to the building, then activating The Frozen power
Environment 2 - selective, so only using Extreme cold and only on the fires (and not on any visible people). 60 feet radius around Shadow. Linked with Hailstorm (cold) damage, selective only on the fires and not on any visible people)

"What the hell happened here?"
Iris' eyebrows raise further as a blizzard descends.

"Okay, clearly going to be lots of questions today."

With a nod at the hooded figure bringing the cold she starts running towards building itself, hoping the cold was dealing with the bus fire. Eyes open and flare along her face and arms as she starts scanning for folks who needed help the most.

"What the hell happened here?"
Iris' eyebrows raise further as a blizzard descends.

"Okay, clearly going to be lots of questions today."

With a nod at the hooded figure bringing the cold she starts running towards building itself, hoping the cold was dealing with the bus fire. Eyes open and flare along her face and arms as she starts scanning for folks who needed help the most.

There is a fissure forming in the air just where the crate is, it’s subtle and without her keen sight she would miss it, but the cracks look similar to Frankie’s teleportation effect but also different with green fissures forming as if a glass was shattered.

She can also see that an old woman has gone into cardiac arrest on the bus.

[Iris Pythia]

"There's some kind of rupture in the air where that crate is. Might be some space-time inter-dimensional stuff? It's like Frankie's portals but weird."

Meanwhile an eye on the back of her neck has been peering furiously at the bus.

"And that lady in seat 14 is going into cardiac arrest."

[Galatea]

''Understood, see if anyone is in the building''

This won't be subtle

She did not want to use that power...it was too obvious and went against the image she tried to maintain...but people were in danger and since she could help, it was her duty to do so.

He body began to shift, to grow. Her muscles began to gain increased definition and enlarge, the proportions of her body following suit. The dress she had wearing ripped tragically under the stress of her expanding stature and her heels got crushed.

Thankfully she had been wearing black and emerald green short shorts similar to the once you could see athlete were using and a strapless bra of the same color that seemed to accommodate her growth.

In an instant she had become a 15 feet tall amazon that looked like she had been cut of golden marble. Her new impressive form was not the one you could see from the 'roided up muscleheads at the gym, no, her powerful musculature was the idealized image of strength that could only come from the master scuptor's chisel or the painter's brush.

Even as a towering powerhouse she was still drop dead gorgeous

In a single bound she was near the burning bus, reaching for the doors to rip them...or any other weakpoints...open to let the people out.

A young man rushed to the woman’s side and tried to do some first aid and keep her conscious as the cracks in reality became visible to all and then something at least four stories tall steps through its massive bulk towering over the squat buildings. A gigantic kaiju mutant crocodile, it stands up on its hind legs and roars before seeing the bus.

Its mouth glows and a blast explodes out from the creature. The blast is massive engulfing much of the area, including the three elites!

OOC: Area attack Dodge DC of 15 Dodge for a +7 damage effect, a 120 foot cone if save fails make a DC 22 Toughness save, if it succeeds then DC 19 Toughness save.

"Huh, didn't see that coming."

About 50 pairs of eyes widen all at once.

"Oh fu-"

She dives for cover as the blast explodes out.

''What the...'' there was no real time to think but when the creature reared on it's back legs Galatea feared more for those behind her then herself.

She put a knee down and stretched her arms wide and she barely had the time to yell ''Take cover!'' before she took the full blast beautiful face first

Galatea takes one for the team, the team being the bus and spared the people the wrath of the kaiju blast.

[Frozen Shadow]

Being focused on raising up the blizzard to deal with the fire, she was shaken out by the sudden roar and fire! Diving down to where the giant woman was making a gap as fast as she could she just about managed to dodge the worst of it, but still hit the ground harder than she'd like off the board.

The blast melts much of the road and structures around but apparently Galatea is made of a tougher flesh and materials. The kaiju seems perplexed and enraged by this turn of events focusing their gaze on the largest moving prey.

OOC: Frozen Shadow is Dazed until end of next turn and at a -1 Toughness penalty, due to two degrees of failure. Frozen Shadow is next.

Ow, what the fuck?

Rubbing her arm from the fall, She turned to look at this large beast from behind the also quite large woman. Preparing to react to what they'd do.

(ooc - taking the 'Ready Standard Action' to hold my environment action until after Galatea has acted. Also can we have distances from the Kaiju?)

Note previous turns environment/hailstorm is stopped, but hailstorm continues for 1 more round after ending so ice still falling on the fires if they're still burning)

OOC: Lets say the Kaiju is about 75 feet from Iris and Frozen and fifty feet from Galatea and the bus. It's a street corner in a small town with scattered damaged vehicles and some now ruined buildings, single floor homes and businesses.

[Iris Pythia]

"Can't believe I'm fighting inter-dimension copyright distinct godzilla."
Iris grumbles and dusts herself off, climbing up with a wince, rather glad Galatea had just face tanked the blast instead of being turned to goo.

"Yo, lizard dude. Are you sapient? Or...?"
I mean, it never hurt to check.

"Either way, the blasting at people has to stop."
She starts moving around to the flank and waves, jumping up and down to try and gets its attention and lead any large energy blasts away from the bus and her allies. As she does her rows of eyes seem to glow.
"That's it, look at me now buddy, you're feeling calm."

The creature is not all that nimble and it stumbled from the gaze attack turning to look at Iris, snapping in her general direction.
