[D4, ME] Don't Worry, Be Happy

The harrowing events in the simulation still had Camilo jittery and on edge. Between facing probably one of the worst fates he could imagine and having a breakthrough but losing it immediately, this was just not his day.

Since the EFL party box, he hadnt been to any big events or parties and hadnt used any, but Camilo couldn't settle himself, so he went off to find a little aid to help him come down.

He'd heard about a 'Mr. Happy' in this part of the Sprawl. Just a bit of investigation for a possible CI or supplier if the need arose. And a need had arisen. He jogged up the stairs of the apartment building and walked the halls until he found the door he was looking for, a small smiley face sticker just under the peephole.

Knock knock

A young man, maybe twelve or so, opened the door and looked to see if he was followed and then said in Amharic, “Eh who you is?”

He was surprised by the appearance of a child. Oh how far he'd come since Rio where children around trap houses was the norm.

Crap, of course they would be speaking Amharic, what was he thinking. He wasn't thinking straight, that was the problem. He just need a little something to get his head back in the game.

Pulling out his handheld he switched on the translator app to translate both ways and replied in his native Portuguese, "Sorry, I do not speak Amharic, I am looking for Mr. Happy."

The kid held up a hand with the number five and then with the other hand held out waiting for something.

His first instinct was to blow his top. Give the pirralho the scare of his short life. But he held back for multiple reasons. It wouldn't do to make a big scene outside this apartment, too many questions would be raised. Also, dealer's could be particular about how those around them are treated. If this pirralho was Mr. Happy's cousin, little brother, or worse his son, and Camilo browbeat him, it wouldn't go well for Camilo getting what he came for. Instead he took the cash out of his pocket and handed five over.

"Mr. Happy?" he asked having paid the extortionist.

The kid nodded and ushered him inside, the apartment was a mish mash of traditional styles and modern amenities. The kid pointed to the living room and then took a seat at a table with an older woman who was preparing a meal. The kid got back to playing on his phone.

In the living room he could smell copious amounts of incense and cannabis. A large heavy-set dark-skinned man stood up and said in American English, “Whassup, whassup… you in Mr. Happy’s world now. What can I do for you, my man?”

He took a deep drag and then blew out smoke, “So be cool and tell Mr. Happy what you need.”

Camilo inhaled deeply and savored the odor. It brought back memories, both good and bad.

He responds in their common language, "This is exatamente why I'm here Mr. Happy. I need something to help me be cool and I heard you could help." He looks around and surveys the room and its contents. "I was hoping for something strong. I have what you call a very sturdy constitution."

[Dapper Dog]

“My man, I got a good selection how stiff you need and what high you chain’, want to get that chilled out mellow spacing out vibe, I got you? Trying to relive that first time with your favorite girl or boy, I got you my man. Trying to chase the ultimate high? I got you my man.”

“So what’s the pleasure? I even got a free sample of what I call Yellow King.”

His interested was piqued at the mention of Yellow King. Mudaba Adin had all kinds of offerings he hadn't been expecting.

"I want to forget I exist, at least for the night. But I'm very interested in this Yellow King. Also, if you have Omega Red, I wouldn't say no to some of that."

[Dapper Dog]

“Omega Red,” he said with a whistle, “You fancy, huh?”

“I can get it but that’s pricey. Yellow King is a pill, that I developed, it’s a fucking sweet high, and if you trying to forget will get you there. You an elite?” he asked.

[Camilo Batista]

Chuckling, Camilo replies, "If my old friends could here someone call me fancy. This Omega Red, once you have had a taste it is hard to forget. No?" He nodded at Mr. Happy's description of Yellow King. "Perfeito, this is what I look for. Yes, I am an Elite."

[Dapper Dog]

He held out a yellow pill and said, "Have a taste, my man."

His original plan was to take his purchases home and see if Julia wanted a share. Or maybe he could track down Frankie III and see if she was a partyclown. However, the temptation of a new bespoke concoction was too alluring. Plus, it wouldn't do to bring something untested to his juniors, they might have a bad experience. Best to see if Mr. Happy's Yellow King was legit.

With that small hesitation worked through, Camilo accepted the pill and downed it.

It was a good high, he was feeling great and it was definitely a pleasant intense feeling. Mr. Happy said, "You feelin' it, my man? You want more, I got you."

[Camilo Batista]

Pulled back into reality, Camilo had to blink a few times to reorient himself, "Yeah... yeah I'm feeling it. I will definitely be taking more of this."

Mr. Happy was pleased and makes the transaction for a small supply of Yellow King.

OOC: Does Camilo have Wealth, if not he can take a Complication for Owing a Drug dealer.

His eyes slightly widened when Mr. Happy offered what some might call an "intent to sale" amount. Not what an actual dealer would be carrying, but more than a night out's worth.

Well, this was good. He was only using when he was called on to. When the occasion made it so he should play the part. Tonight was just an exception, nothing more. Next time they had to play the part, he could make his own contribution.

"Well, I was not looking for so much right now or to pay so much. I did not bring that kind of cash, but I'll take it, if you'll hold a marker for me. Then next time we will be friends and you can give me the friends and family discount. No?" He finished with a big grin.

"My man, it's all good, and I know you will be good for it," he said handing over the product. "Enjoy the high."

[Camilo Batista]

Nodding, Camilo accepted the pills, "Obrigado pela ajuda." He would head out, slipping out a pill to take on the way back to the house since he felt the effects starting to wane.

It was a good thing he had slipped the cameras. Walking away with this kind of weight would not be a good look for a student at the Institute. Or maybe it would play well for the reality show, what did he know.
