[Day 7 - LE] Elite Movie Night - Dragon Break

[Lil Disaster]

"Hey, what's everyone's very favorite movie? Or one of your favorites, if it's hard to pick." She glanced at them all curiously.

“Best movie of all time, it’s a classic, but I am going with Pitch Black, because the Diesel is Disaster Fam approved.”

“Oh and anything with some baddies in it.”

[Bee Haw]

She smiled at Frankie and LD as they answered.

"Mine is this old movie 'Walk.Ride.Rodeo'. It's about this girl from Utah, a true story. She was a nationally ranked rodeo barrel racer, top of her form. She was in a car accident and paralyzed from the waist down when she was nineteen." Her age now.

"She learns to ride again with a special seat belt on her saddle. And got right back into national rodeo competitions! And being a motivational speaker. She is in the film as the stunt double for all of the post-crash riding sequences in the film, while her younger sister plays her doing the pre-crash stunts. Her barrel-racing horse, Power, plays itself in the film! It's just such a beautiful motivating story."

[Babble]

"Seven Samurai." Arturo answered. "There's a reason it's been imitated so many times."

[Master Qianli]

"Seven Samurai." Arturo answered. "There's a reason it's been imitated so many times."

Master Qianli agreed, "Yes, a very good film. I am partial to Yojimbo, myself, if we are talking samurai films."

[Babble]

He nodded in agreement. "Yojimbo has also been imitated several times, as good stories often are."

[Frankie Reynes]

"Red whaa?" she blinked, "Eh... I guess mine's... Spaceballs 2: The search for more money? I can't believe they finally managed to get that made after all those years."

[Galatea]

''I like V for Vendetta. It's an old classic''

[Kim Jun-Min]

Jun-Min said, "I love romance, a good love story will always suck me in."

[Kid Thor]

“Battle-Nun, the whole trilogy is awesome,” Kid Thor said. “Say your prayers, sinner!” he said trying to mimic the voice.

[Iris Pythia]

"Can't be a clownist, most of my friends are clowns."

Iris continues munching away on the couch, pondering her favourite movie.

"Well, everyone who's ever wanted to write a treatment is required to watch Pulp Fiction. But maybe that's not like, my favourite. There's this super old British comedy about a big city cop in a small town, that's my favourite. Need to have super senses to pick up on all the jokes your first watch."

[Camilo Batista]

"Camilo, bring one of those," she asked walking into the living room.

Camilo obliged, grabbing a beer for himself along the way. "Sweet and spicy, just like you." He said with a cheesy grin.

Listening in and sipping his beer, Camilo felt less bad for not bringing any food. It seemed like there was going to be plenty of leftovers after tonight.

"I wouldn't say it's my favorite, but I preferred Sanshiro Sugata. Muito bom portrayal of the mestre student relationship, of evolving martial arts, and of finding what you need instead of what you want. For favorite, I might go with Tropa de Elite."

[Dapper Dog]

"Thanks," she said. "I am just building a list, yeah, because none of these movies sound familiar."

Jun-Min went ahead and started the movie in the living room. The film goes through the opening production companies before it opens with a shot of a deep desert and it shows the lead, Bryson Jones as maverick ex-soldier turned adventure Brash Landon. He turns to look back so the viewers get a great view of his handsome face before he approached the ruins.

The camera pulls out and it showed massive bones being revealed and then the title, Dragon Break.

The scene shifted to a scientists inspecting bones and she has a moment of inspiration as she widened her eyes and said, “I knew it… everyone doubted me but I knew the truth.”

And the action spectacular is kicked off.

[Galatea]

"I swear...if actual dragons starts invading us now I will blow a gasket"

[Bee Haw]

Bea watched attentively.

The lead actor standing there in the desert had a strong handsome cowboy vibe that she could not help but admire. A chaste and innocent crush.

[Kid Thor]

"I swear...if actual dragons starts invading us now I will blow a gasket"

"Hey I know some pretty cool dragons, " Kid Thor replied.

[Master Qianli]

Master Qianli added, "It really depends on the dragon, but I doubt that nuance will be present here."

[Thousand Miles]

Thousand Miles teleported in, carrying a couple bags of shrimp chips to contribute to the food table. "Hey, sorry I'm late, did I miss anything?" he said, though how someone who could instantly teleport places can end up late so often is something of a mystery.

After dropping off the snacks, Miles glanced at the screen to take in the current movie scene. "So what do we think, will Science Girl hook up with Soldier Boy? Or get eaten by a dragon? Or.... hook up, then get eaten by a dragon?"

[Babble]

"I suspect there will be 'oohs' and 'aahs' followed by running and screaming." Arturo predicted.

[Ultimate Frankie]

"Bruv, I'm rooting for she hooks up with a dragon, really mix it up, mate," Frankie responded.
