[Day 8 - LA] Elite Academy Wrap-Up Party

[Dapper Dog]

The staff, including camera folks are all at the Elite Academy House enjoying barbeque and party to celebrate the end of shooting. There is lots of good food, booze, and an energy of accomplishment. BadWitchPatel, Paragon, and Lisa Singularity are on hand.

Tsehay Moqe is supposed to show up later after a prior engagement.

[Bee Haw]

Bea arrived, dressed in her usual blouse (yellow), kerchief (black), skirt (yellow), and boots (black). Her white cowboy hat.

She had a bright, if slightly nervous, smile.

What was going to happen next? Were they going to announce who made the UNJE hero team? What would become of her? She'd been thinking about what she might train for if left to her own devices.

She decided to mingle. She'd enjoyed talking to BadWitchPatel before. A safe and familiar choice. But maybe it would be good to introduce herself to Paragon? Or Lisa Singularity?

She kept an eye out for a graceful opportunity.

[Galatea]

Galatea arrived in a beautiful rose gold dress and her game face always on despite what could possibly have transpired today.

She did not need be part of a team with Lisa Singularity. She did not care and, perhaps, she did not really want it.

[Thousand Miles]

"Hey all," Miles said as he teleported in, right next to the food table. Picking up a plate, he started grabbing some hors d'oeuvres. "Good job on our last day of filming. I'm sure people will like it; what do you think?"

[Galatea]

She greeted the teleporter as she took a flute of refreshment ''Good evening Miles. Anxious?''

[Bee Haw]

"Hey all," Miles said as he teleported in, right next to the food table. Picking up a plate, he started grabbing some hors d'oeuvres. "Good job on our last day of filming. I'm sure people will like it; what do you think?"

Bea smiled at Miles and Galatea. "I can't quite believe it's coming to an end. I'm certainly nervous. Life will go on, no matter what happens, but it is a rather significant crossroads. The uncertainty is hard. Waiting. Trying to imagine both paths. All the possible paths."

"I've been thinking about what I might do next if not... if not the new team. What are you thinking?"

[Galatea]

''Bee'' she greeted the cowgirl

''Chosen or not...I will likely end up creating my own modeling agency. Something more cooperative then the usual exploitative business model usually encountered.''

[Babble]

Arturo was carrying Dumpling when he joined everyone.

Bea waved Arturo and Dumpling over, with a big smile for each of them.

"That's interesting. You are certainly a model model. But do you think you will have time for a side business if you are on a UNJE team? Eep! Now my paths I am trying to imagine entangle even further. Though it is an intriguing thought."

[Camilo Batista]

Camilo arrived quietly and made for the banquet table, piling a plate high before becoming a wallflower. As he enjoyed his afternoon snack, he mused at how much and how little had changed over the semester.

[Galatea]

"That's interesting. You are certainly a model model. But do you think you will have time for a side business if you are on a UNJE team? Eep! Now my paths I am trying to imagine entangle even further. Though it is an intriguing thought."

''I always find the time, dear. And what are these entangling path of yours?''

She raised her glass to Arturo and Camilo

[Babble]

Arturor joined them, with Dumpling of course. "I don't know what thr plan is for this little guy."

[Galatea]

''Bring him as the mascot for the new team?'' she proposed

[Babble]

"Maybe." He shrugged. "Maybe he stays with the house."

[Thousand Miles]

"I still have hopes of making the team," Miles said optimistically. "But if not, I still learned a lot. I'm definitely going to take the hero-ing gig more seriously, whether on the team or not."

[Bee Haw]

''I always find the time, dear. And what are these entangling path of yours?''

Bea smiled at Galatea.

"I meant ... where my life could go next. Stay in Ethiopia? Return to the US? That's a big decision if UNJE doesn't have a role for me."

"And if I don't make the team, I'm thinking about the training and skills I will need to get a job. I think, in that case, I'd like to work with animals. Caring for animals. Protecting animals. I've been studying local animal control and protection laws. Each place has its own laws, certifications, requirements. But something like an animal rescue officer, maybe. And now I'm wondering if I could pursue that regardless. And does it need more schooling?"

Arturor joined them, with Dumpling of course. "I don't know what thr plan is for this little guy."

She paused to pet Dumpling. "I'm sure we can find someone to adopt him, if needed. One of us - if our life permits it - or someone in the community."

[Dapper Dog]

The center of the room bends and warps, a miniature rupture in time and space forms a spherical object, the center is black, all absence of light and then it pulses outward and there standing in the room is Lisa Singularity. She said, “Well I am glad to see that everyone is here and enjoying themselves. It’s been a great ride observing and speaking with the fellow judges on the matter of who will be the next members of my team, Elite Guard.”

“But no matter the results, I am glad to have all of you working with the UNJE.”

[BadWitchPatel]

“Thanks Lisa Singularity, so what happens now? Well with principal shooting done we will put together the best footage to prepare for the show and then we will be gathered one more time for a reunion show where we will do the team announcement. So until then, just follow the rules of the NDA and everything will be great. I am proud of everything we have accomplished, and we have some great elite stories to tell,” she said with a great enthusiasm.

“So please enjoy this and make sure to be moved out by tomorrow morning, students can return to the dorms of course and best of luck to all of you!”

Bea tried to keep her smile bright and warm, but inside she was fretting.

Oh! Oh she should have read the paperwork more closely.

How long did they have til the reunion episode? Could she ask?

She needed to check with her host family, or she'd be homeless. They'd be glad to let her stay. Hopefully. She could see if she could start paying rent. Maybe they'd accept that.

It would make sense to stay close by. She could ... do the stuff she'd been thinking about if she wasn't picked. Just proceed as if you weren't picked. Focus. Make a plan. Make a life. It felt so overwhelming.

Breathe. Pray. Breathe. Pray.

And just like that it was all but over. Pack up and get out. What he needed after this was a nice little vacation, some me-time. Maybe he would check out the Null Zone later. He could plan a little winter break get away for him and Frankie. But for now he should be in the moment.

Finishing off his plate, Camilo grabbed a glass of whatever they had out and headed over to the others. "So I suppose this is it then. No?"
