Stars shines not only in Heaven (Pregame Wednesday August 17th)

[Galatea]

The beach's sand was delightful indeed, this would make the photoshoot more comfortable.

Her people had reached out to local modeling agencies to hire a local crew, both models and staff for a beach episode during the late evening and early night. They had reserve a strand at that time to fully utilize the Ethiopian sunset and night sky to their full advantage alongside Galatea's unique skin tone.

It was a short notice but her people were terrifyingly efficient and the opportunity was golden.

While the team was setting up the scenes, Galatea herself was sitting with the other models in bathrobes hiding their swimwear and trying to keep on top of things.

They were able to get plenty of local talent, about twelve models in all many of them contacted through their Instagrams and eager for work. One though stands out even to Galatea, her paperwork has her listed as Ynez Garsiya, total newcomer but she is just striking.

The camera loves her, or maybe it’s the crew who seem even a little too distracted by her presence. She was sitting under the shade applying some sunscreen as she waited for her moment in the limelight. Several members of the staff are trying to make sure she is taken care of.

[Galatea]

Galatea smiled to herself and made a note...she'll have to keep an eye on her in the future.

For now she'll just socialize as there was still time before her own turn would come.

She spoke a few complimentary and admirative words to the young models just finishing this part of the shoot before walking over to Ynez.

"Hi! I hope I am not interrupting? You are Ynez Garsiya, right?"

[Dapper Dog]

Ynez replied with a Latin accent to her English, “No, not at all. Did I miss my call?”

[Galatea]

Galatea shook her head lightly indicating the negative.

''Oh no, I just want to meet you. My agency seemed quite impressed by your portfolio and now I understand why...your turn on the film will certainly be one of tonight's highlights'' she spoke softly, the praise honest

[Dapper Dog]

“Thank you, I have not had a lot of chances to do serious work yet. I am a little nervous now,” she admitted.

[Galatea]

She gave a nod of understanding

''I have not been doing this myself for very long and not very often, to be honest, so I totally get it.''

''¿Prefieres hablar español? Ou você prefere português?''

[Dapper Dog]

She lit up at the Spanish and said in kind, “Oh thank God, I mean I can speak English and some Amharic but this feels so much better.”

[Galatea]

''We relate on many levels, Ynez'' she continued in spanish before she caught herself, a bit embarassed ''I hope you don't mind if I call you by your first name.''

[Dapper Dog]

“It’s okay, just feels good, takes me home a little,” she admitted. “Just feels good. I feel like I have seen you on a cover, right?”

[Galatea]

She acquiesced

''Yes I was chosen as the cover girl of one or two brazilian fashion magazines since I started'' She tilted her head ''Where are you from?''

[Dapper Dog]

“I knew it,” she said with joy and excitement. “I wish I could be on a cover, maybe one day. Oh… I am from Venezuela… little town, nothing place. I moved to Dubai for a year but it was… not great. Now I am here.”

[Galatea]

Everyone in the business knew about Dubai and Emirates. Promises of fame, success, the high life but more often then not a mirage to hide abuse and control.

''I...have heard from many girls.'' she aimed for reassurance ''As long as you are in this business feel free to come to me and ask for anything. I am not much more experienced but I know the industry can be ruthless and exploitative so I know us girls need to support each other.''

[Dapper Dog]

“You are so kind, I mean… I am sorry,” she said looking down. “I am trying to not be… distrusting, because I have had girlfriends before that stabbed me in the back, act nice and then well… I guess you probably… well you know. If you know Dubai, then you know.”

She said, “I feel nervous talking about this, because a lot happened to me in Dubai, mostly bad but not all. I mean it was good. The glamour, the money… or promised money, the life was like a party until it wasn’t.”

“But thanks, I really respect your offer, really,” she offered.

“I hope your experiences have been better than mine.”

[Galatea]

The brazilian smiled warmly

''No offense taken darling, I won't pressure you to do anything or speak about anything. A girl needs her own space, after all. Just know that my offer has no time limit.''

Musing about her own career so far she looked at the current girls going before the camera.

''I entered the industry at a special time in my life. I do not know how I would have fared in any other circumstances.''

[Dapper Dog]

She watched as well and said, “What… what made it so special?”

[Galatea]

"You know the myth about Galatea and Pygmalion?" She inquired

[Dapper Dog]

"You know the myth about Galatea and Pygmalion?" She inquired

She turned her focus to Galatea and said meekly, “I… are they singers or like influencers? I guess not.”

[Galatea]

Galatea chuckled lightly

''Not too far from reality, actually. It's an old myth about a man who fell in love with the ivory statue of a woman carved by his own hand. The statue was granted life by the goddess of love and they married.''

[Dapper Dog]

“A guy made a statue, it came to life and then he married it? That’s kind of creepy. But probably a fun story if you don’t think about it too hard,” she responded.

“So which one was Pygmalion?”
